I am related to Casimir Alberti as well, through my mother.
You can view my Alberti ancestry in the Moore-Simon Extended public tree.
My family is descended from John Alberty, son of Casimir and Catherine Cole Alberty.
My grandmother was Helen Alberty Simon of Kansas. My great grandfather was Dr. Omer Alberty in Kansas and Missouri. His father was Myron Alberty of Illinois and Kansas. His father was Stephen Alberty of Lockport, NY. His father was John, son of Casimir.

Do you still have this birth certificate copy? I'd love to see it, too. Is it digitized? I just found my connection to P.C. Alberti, and this is fascinating. I am descended from his daughter, Francyn Albertus Allen. My line stays Allen for a few generations and then a daughter marries a Townsend. P.C. Alberti was my 10g grandfather.

Your entry was dated 2004 so I do not know if you are still monitoring this but I will give it a try. My uncle Vincento (James) Magistro/Magestro and a few of his brothers lived in the 3rd Ward in the 1920s and had a son Antonio born in 1913. There is quiet a bit of information concerning the branch of the family in census reports for 1920 and 1930.

Are you aware that the Mormon's Family History Library has microfilms of most of Naso's original birth, death, and marriage records from 1820 throught 1910 available for viewing at any of their US branches? They supply the equipment and anyone can have access to each film for a six week period at your local branch for something like $6/film.

One of my own lines comes from Naso and I was able to trace them back to the early 1800s using these films.

That's great - my grandfather (Alberti) was also from Sicily, from the town of Naso. I have been frustrated in my search for more information about his family in Sicily so it's good to meet another Sicilian Alberti.

Okay, I called my mother and checked. My grandfather was Salvatore Alberti of Palermo, my grandmother was Maria Zakorska of Poland. My parents were both the youngest of their families, meaning that my grandparents were mostly dead before I grew up.

I know very little. My father was born in Brooklyn, the youngest of ten children of Salvatore Alberti of Palermo and (I don't know my grandmother's name) of Poland.

Anybody have any information on his ancestors? All I have is that he married Catherine Cole/Kohl. He was born 17 Mar 1740 in Germany and died in Durham, Greene Co., NY in 24 Sep 1824. I have his descendants, I need his ancestors.

Gottardo Canova is Giovanna's father. He is my great-great grandfather. He is not directly related to the Alberti's.

I don't have much information on the Alberti's but have some on the Canovas.

I have a copy of an articile from "Italian-American Reveiw, Octobe 1976 which states "Alberti Plaque Stolen". The first plaque was placed at the site in 1959. I have an original Daily News dated June 3, 1958 with a 2 paragraph articile concerning the 3rd commemoration of the arrival of Peter Caesar Alberti. I also have a 2 page document given out at the cermony. This was 1 year before the original marker was stolen. Also, have a copy from New York Times, Friday, June 3, 1964 about the unvailing of the 2nd plaque. Karen Thaler mymei44@hotmail.com
