Thank you for your reply to my query. David Albertson (1764-1842) had a tavern licence in 1811 and was elected as a town official in 1813 in Trafalgar Twp., Halton Co., Ontario. He died in the same township. Many Upper Canadians did return to or move to the US after the War of 1812. If it was your David he would have had to be in NY in 1817 and then return again to Trafalgar Twp. This seems unlikely. I will try to find out if the Trafalgar David's wife was on his gravemarker. If it was Lila I will get back to you. I am not related to this family but have a historical interest in them and trying to work out their family history.

This is the first time the name David Albertson has come up. My great grandfather George Albertson was born in 1817 in Saratoga County NY. According to his death certificate his father was David Albertson and mother was Lila. Could there possibly be a connection. I have other information the his father was George M. Albertson born 1794.

Barbara

I am looking for information on David (1764-1842), Robert, and William (1794-1877) Albertson who were all living in Halton County, Ontario (Upper Canada) before 1812. William was from New Jersey and may have been the son of David. I have no other family history but do have militia and other historical sources. Robert & William served with the British during the War of 1812 in the 2nd Regiment of York Militia.

Searching for the date and place of birth and death of my great grandmother, Anna (or sometimes Annie). Anna, the daughter of Jacob and Clara Albertson, married Howard D. Spaide in Pennsylvania and had a child, Gerald R. Spaide. Anna passed away sometime after the birth of her child (Gerald was born in 1910). Her husband Howard passed away in 1930. Her son Gerald was then taken in, name was changed to Russell G. Charles, and raised by John and his grandmother, Clara Albertson Charles.
If anyone could help me with this research, I will be extremely grateful.
Thank you,
Beth Charles-Allen

BRUTON, YOUNG, CARPENTER in KY and TN

Anyone who is interested in Addington David BRUTON and Lucinda YOUNG(?) will probably be interested in Mary Thompson's research. I am putting a piece of it here for others who are having difficulty with this line as this may help someone.

The following research is a study of the lives of Mathew Young and his wife Lucinda (surname unknown) and their four children, Sampson, Emeline J., Ester/Easter/Esther, and Hannah E. It also includes all known grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mathew Young was probably born between 1800 and 1815 in Tennessee. He does not appear on any census record. His existence is documented from records found in Morgan County, Tennessee. Lucinda Young was born in 1815, in Tennessee. Interestingly, this family seemed to go back and forth between Fentress and Morgan County. Lucinda and the children were listed in the 1840, 1850 and 1860 censuses of Fentress County, yet they never owned land in that county. Instead, they bought and sold land in nearby Morgan County. (Part of this land was situated in the portion of Morgan County that became Scott County.)

Mathew and Lucinda were married before 1832. Their first child, Sampson Young, stated on his Union Army Pension Application that he was born on June 27, 1833, in Fentress County, TN. The next year Mathew and Lucinda were living in Morgan County where Mathew Young served on Jury Duty in 1834, 1835, 1836 and 1837.

In the 1850 Census of Fentress County Tennessee, Lucinda Young was 35, Sampson 16, Emeline 14, Ester 12, Hannah 10.
On November 17, 1854, Sampson Young, Emeline J. (Young) Duncan, Ester Young and Hannah E. Young sold two 50 acre tracts of land (100 acres) in Morgan County to James Sandusky. It was the same land on Black Wolf Creek that they had inherited from their father. (Scott Co. Deed Book A, p. 216) Although Lucinda was not named in the deed, she signed the document along with Sampson and Emeline. On the same day, November 17, 1854, Lucinda and the children bought 250 acres of land from James Sandusky. It was located "opposite where Lucinda Young now lives." (Morgan County, Original Deed Book M, p. 237-239.)

Anyone working on this family?

Dianna Albertson

Re: Mary Etta Albertson Froedge

I have Mary Etta and "Even Dee" (name has many odd variations) in my files, though I'm not directly related. I found 8 kids through the various censuses. I show her parents as John Albertson 1836-1919 and Naoma/Teomy Tiptton OR Stephens 1836-1861. John's pension records list both. (John's 2nd wife was Luvicy/Louvisa Simpson 1832-1915. They md in 1861, had 1 kid.) I have John's parents as Solomon b 1810 / Mary or Maria b 1812; then Solomon b 1781 / Rachel b 1794; then Early 1756-1844 / Elizabeth Coulson 1758-1856. Many researchers have more info (and presumably better sources) than I do in those earlier generations, and I'm not positive that I have those generations connected properly, but I'm pretty confident of John/Naoma and their 2 daughters. If you'd like details and my sources, please contact me at d.broberg@comcast.net. Darla Broberg

Yes, I know of this line. Mary C. Albertson's parents were Gilbert (b. 1775) and Sarah (b. c. 1791)(Lee) Albertson. Both died in 1843.

Gilbert's parents were sea captain Rickloff Alberson/Albertson and Mary Coats (daughter of early Philadelphia brickmaker, Thomas Coats). They married in Christ Church in 1750.

Rickloff was one of 4 children by parents Gilbert and Jane (Alberson) Alberson. It is said that Gilbert was first a Deputy Sherriff of Gloucester County, NJ and later a mariner.

I have more of this info if you would like to contact me.

The original spelling and prounciation was Satuit(sa-tu-it) meaning cold brook. Scituate, RI is named for Scituate, MA.

I'm descended from Sarah Albeson/Albertson daughter of Nicholas "the Swede" though now I'm confused if shes more likely the daughter of Nick Jr. then Nick Sr. as my chart has her born abt 1682. One of his sons William Penn Albertson is still in Hancock County for the 1870 census, but then 1880 census Adair County, MO and 1900 census they are in Livingston County, MO, but no sign of Morris and Margaret in any of those places. If anyone has any info on this family I'd like to hear from you.
There children were Edmund, William Penn, Francis Marion, Alfred, Margaret, Caroline, Sarah, Alice

David,
The Jacob Albertson, Sr. and wife, Sarah, I am looking at are found in both the 1850 and 1860 censuses in Egg Harbor. On the 1850 census Jacob Sr. was a jailor, and Jacob Jr. was listed as a sailor. On the 1860 census, Jacob Sr. was listed as a farmer. I am trying to trace the daughter, Frances Elisabeth or Elizabeth who was on the 1850 census as 11 years of age and doesn't appear with the family on the 1860 census. Her daughter, Emeline Nott appears on the 1860 census living with the family. Frances Elisabeth was married to a Walter Nott who was, I think, a ship captain or at least worked as a sailor. I cannot find Walter anywhere until Emeline Nott Lipsey's death record in Philly where he was listed as Walter Edward Nott, father. I don't know where Elisabeth is in 1860, but I found her on the 1880 census living with a James Palmer in Philly working as a seamstress. By 1880, Emeline was married to Wm. Lipsey and living in the Philly area.

If you have access to the family burial in NJ and there is a Walter Nott buried there, please let me know. I cannot find any trace of him, nor can I find a marriage record for him and Elisabeth.
Thank you for replying. I hope we can make some connection here.
Sandy Lipsey sbjol1@netzero.com
