Thanks for the information. I've actually come to that conclusion because I still can't narrow down the search to one specific town. I've just recently hired a search firm to try to find the record in Cook County Illinois, so I'm really hoping that they'll locate it. I've also contacted the local church that MAY have performed the ceremony. (I say MAY because they were members of that church from day one!) Whether or not the church will part with it's records is another matter. Thanks for your assistance.

Hi-
Glad to know that we're related. And speaking of Tita Albino, I remembered when my husband went to the Philippines, he was on board with Tita on the same plane. And Tita even wrote on a piece of paper her name and greetings on it to the
Albino relatives in Dumanjug. See what a small world! And there are still a lot of our relatives here in the US but i don't know what particular place. But there are some in California. They're the son and daughter of the late Atty. Ramon Albino, Sr.

Re: Pennsylvania & Illinois Marriage Records

I have posted an online source for "Where to Write for Vital Records" today---scroll upwards to find my posting. That publication says there are no centralized marriage records in Pennsylvania and Illinois for the time period in which you are interested.

Which means you would have to guess at a county or counties to apply to (by mail) or search yourself, if allowed. I know some counties have placed their old records on the Internet.

You can use a search engine to find county government's web sites. Or the state web site might have a link to each county. The county for every town (with a post office) in the USA is given in an official zip code directory. I even know a book which is arranged by state, thereunder by county, yielding the names of the cities and towns in each one.

Of course, if there were a divorce record, that might list the place of marriage. Otherwise, I know of no source that would tell you where someone got married---other than the marriage record itself. If anyone knows otherwise, please post a response below.

Reg Niles
RegNMINiles@cs.com

Seeking information on Sarah Ann Yerger of Fegleysville, Montgomery County who married John H. Mauger of Douglasville, Berks County on April 13, 1872 by L. Kryder Evans, minister. They had nine chiildren: Irvin, Frank, John T., Harvey , Ralph A. Clarence, Fannie, Sarah May, and Mary Emma. Sarah May married George Schwab. How does this connect to the Mauger families in Pottstown? Does anyone have information about John H. Mauger? He may have owned a brick factory in area. Thanks for any information in advance.
