Sherman, NY-Jay H. ALDAY 92, formerly of 120 Church St., Sherman, died at 3:45 AM Saturday (June 5, 1982) in Twin Brook Nursing Home, Erie.
He was born March 13, 1890, in the town of French Creek, a son of Christian & Jennie NECKERS ALDAY.
ALDAY was a member of Sherman Community Church & a member of Sherman IOOF. He was a former member of Sherman Grange, Sherman Garden Club & Clymer Conservation Club, & had previously been employed by the Dairymen's League, Sherman.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol BISHOP of Sherman; 2 sons: Gilbert & Eugene ALDAY, both of Sherman; 2 grandsons: Maurice & John ALDAY, both of Sherman; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers Murice ALDAY of Ripley, Marion ALDAY of Williamson & Wilbur ALDAY of Dewittville & 2 sisters: Ruth RUDD & Lucy ALDEN both of Sarasota, FL.
He was preceded in death by his wife Deborah BLISS ALDAY, who died June 14, 1979, a sister Bessie HOTCKISS & 2 brothers; John & Roy ALDAY. A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Kermit Hogenboom will officate. Burial will be in Sherman Cemetery.
