Hello Terry,

I don't know if there is a connection but the Charles Alderton you referred to in your previous e mail may possibly be my great, great grandfather.

I have seen a copy of the 1891 cenus for Sacriston in County Durham and at that time Charles was 52 years old and living with his wife Elizabeth. He was a horse keeper and one of his sons was William my great grandfather.

The cenus shows that Charles came from Norfolk but if his age was correct then he must have been born 1839 or 1840? Also his place of birth is shown as Wheaton but seeing as the document is hand written it may well be Wacton?

For your information Charles son William had two sons and three daughters. The sons were Joseph and Charles. Charles was my grand father and Joseph was Sally's.

If you have any further information please let me know.

Kind regards

Graham Alderton.
