I'm trying to get more information on my grandmothers family.
Nicolas Aldred was born 1900, in (W)Leigh, Eng.
Her parents were
William Aldred, born 1869 in (W)Leigh
Christine MacKenzie, born 1873 in (W)Leigh
Williams parents were
James Isherwood, born ?? possibly in Somerset Co.
Eliza Aldred, born ?? in (W) Leigh
Eliza's Father was
Jeremiah Aldred
Jeremiah is reported to have owned several row houses on a street named after him.. Jerry St
The 1881 Census does report James Isherwood and Eliza (Isherwood) and thier children living at
14 Jerry St, West Leigh, Lancashire, Eng.
William Aldred (Isherwood) is reported to have taken his Mothers maiden name because,
1) he was born before the wedding..
2) he was mad at his father about some incident related to his mothers death (abt 1882)
If anyone has any Aldred connections in this area.. I would be interested in hearing from them.
