I believe I am distant cousin, for I too am decended from Turner Aldrich. I am in the process of gathering information, so yours was very helpful. I'm trying to find relatives of Arvesta Allace Aldrich, who was born on 30 Jun 1869 in Grant, Oregon. She died on 29 Mar 1941. Arvesta was married to James H. Olney, and had a daughter Bertha P. Olney, who is my Great Grandmother. If anyone has any info I'd love to see it.

Hi. I also am a descendant of George Aldrich and Joan Thurgood. I was believing that they were descendants of King Edward II of England and his wife Isabella of France through the marriage of their daughter Mary to William Aldrich of Norfork.

What a punch that was to hear this has all been disproved. Now I'll start over again. Have you any additional information? Good luck.

Thomas Aldrich Born 1473 Norwich, Norfolk, England..?

It as difficult but I got past William Aldrich from Norwich, all the way to his grandfather Thomas Aldrich, born in 1473, died 1529 and married Elizabeth Wood whow as born 1477 in Fulborne, Cambridge, England.

I'm stuck there, though, there doesn't seem to be much history past him, or any others that far back, it seems. I am interested in finding out exactly what english ethnic group the Aldrich line came from... I suppose that will prove very difficult but I am curious either way! If you have any info on this, let me know, thanks!

Well I'm not sure that I can help w/your Amos, but wondered if you've ever come across an ANANIAS Aldrich (b. 1814 in Adams, Berkshire Co., MA) who may have been a son of Daniel? Ananias, Lorenzo, and George Aldrich, all born in the same area around the same time, came west to Kane County, IL between 1836 and 1841. According to A.J. Aldrich's Vol 1, page 251, Minnie(8) Aldrich, born 27 Jan 1887, married Dan Stillwell. Minnie was the daughter of Richard Darius(7) Aldrich and Mary Arnold, his 2nd wife, 1st wife being Sarah Robertson with whom he had no children.

I not an Aldrich, but, a Rockwood, I came across info about Aldrich's, in Rehoboth, Mass, where I reside, apparently some came over with my ancestors who settled after Bay Colony in the Worcester area of Massachusetts . Now, researching one line of my family who followed Roger Williams circa 1600, apparently there were Aldrich's in the Rehoboth Area, or at that time, it included Swansea and Somerset Mass, and into parts of Rhode Island.

With the genealogy which I came across Aldrich's share an ancestry with Rockefeller's and I am not sure what side but, also Walter Cronkite. Apparently his ancestors, I think were Aldrich's, in Rehoboth, Mass

Edwin was my father but I don't have the information you seek. I visited him shortly before his death and upon my return home I was notified of his passing. His wife, Grace took care of all the arrangements and I never received a copy of the death notice. I believe he was buried in southern California but since she is gone as well I have no way to find out

Thank you so very much. For some reason I missed out on Simeon and couldn't connect him to this family. I Have this Simeon married to Nelly/Penelope Gaines. The Gaines girls I have as sisters, daughters of David Gaines and Eliz. Tubbs. I have Huldah born abt 1780 and death date of 29 July 1794?
Do you know what happened to Roger? His wife Polly aka Mary was living with her daughter (Polly) and her family "Joseph Pierce" in Lafayette Wis. in 1850.

I am researching Dennis Aldrich and his wife, Anna Hutchinson. Dennis was born c 1800 and died, I believe, c 1835. Anna remarried that year, and he disappears. Her second husband was named Langford, and one of the children of the second marriage saw fit to name a son Dennis Aldrich Langford. Dennis may have been a black sheep. Someone with his name is listed in 1828 as a defendant in an assault case in Posey County.

I know that this is an old post, but Semira Aldrich was the daughter of my great-great-great grandparents, Dennis Aldrich, Sr. and Anna Hutchinson. Dennis is in Posey County in 1830, but he apparently died before 1835 when Anna remarried. I am going for death, instead of divorce, because a son of Anna's second marriage, George Washington Langford, named his son Dennis Aldrich Langford. I did not find any Ananias Aldrich in G.A.G. I found an Anan, b. 1807 Foster, R.I. son of Job and Jane (Jones). I looked at Lorenzo's and there are several but none that matched your criteria. Looking at George's would be a formidable task as it is one of the most popular Aldrich names. Daniel is another very popular name. Sorry.

John Aldrich 1828 (son of Asa Aldrich & Mercy Smith) and Mary Jane Johnston had two sons, namely John Aldrich Jr and Carl M. Aldrich and two daughters, Lucette and Luta. Any decendants of this family please send me a hello.

I am also looking for information on the two marriages of Carl M. Aldrich, Jr. One wife was named Floy Agnes Graves and the other I believe was Elsie Johnson, but can't confirm. Can anyone help me find more information on this family?

I’m trying to learn who the parents were of John W. Aldrich; a resident of Bristol, Hartford County, Connecticut when he enlisted in Company H, 13th Infantry Battalion on January 4, 1862.

On the 1860 U. S. census report there was a 17 year old John Aldrich who was born in Connecticut working as a laborer on a farm in Worcester, Massachusetts – probably for a Levi M. and Susan Taft. Per the 1870 thru 1910 U.S. census reports, Mr. Aldrich was born in Connecticut. His death certificate reads that he was born July 20, 1842 in Newtown, Fairfield County, CT, but there is no record of his birth in the town clerk’s office in Newtown. No entries were made on the death certificate identifying his father, his father’s birthplace or his mother’s maiden name.

John lived in Naugatuck, New Haven County, Connecticut for many years and was married to Laura I. ______. In the early 1880s he and Maria L. Goodspeed married. She was a daughter of Canfield and Susan H. (Adams) Goodspeed of Meriden, New Haven County, CT.

Mr. Aldrich died at Fitch’s Home for Soldiers in Darien, Fairfield County, CT on September 26, 1912 and is buried in Darien in the veterans’ cemetery. There is a memorial for him and a picture of his gravestone on the Find A Grave website. Maria Aldrich died in 1941 and is buried in Bethany, New Haven County, Connecticut. Her gravestone reads that she was the wife of John Walker Aldrich.

Any help with John’s parents or Laura’s maiden name will be greatly appreciated!

My grandmother Bertha MURRAY b. 20 Sep 1892 married James Barlow ALDRICH bef 1910. They later divorced. I believe they had 3 children: Helen M. b. 1910, James b. 1914 and another daughter? In 1921 she married my grandfather George BENGEL. Her first family has been a mystery to me. She never spoke about them. My mother never knew much more than I. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you for the information. I do know that Richard Aldrich and Sarah Robertson had children as these are the names listed as parents on my great-grandmothers birth and death certificates. I believe that had a total of four children: Nellie Kathryn (my great-grandmother), Gardner, and two others but haven't got the names handy. I have just recently gotten in contact with A. James Aldrich's son and he is trying to locate me a copy of his father's Vol. 1 book as where I am at there are no Family History Centers. Once again, thank you for the inforamtion, I now have something to work off of.
