Hi Bill

Wondering if you have had a chance to find out anything on Richard Aleck. Have found some more on a Madlyn Bonham.
In the 1920 census there is a Milton and Ruby J Fleschner living with Melvin H and Emma Bonham. Found a death for Madlyn Fleschner Oct. 9, 1919, 26 years of age (which fits the age of the Elsa M in 1900 with Melvin H & Emma). Also found a birth for Ruby Fleschner born to Albert Fleschner and Madlyn E. Bonham 4/2/1919 in Vigo County, Milton Fleschner 3/26/1915 in Vigo County.

Hoping to hear from you soon.
Thanks.
Deb
ggmdam@tds.net

Hi Bill

After writing you yesterday I did find a little more. I found in the 1900 census Goldens' parents Melvin H. & Emma Bonham in Sullivan County, Jackson Township, Indiana. They had a daughter Ruby P age 7 born in MI and Elsa M age 4 born in MI (I am assuming M stands for Madilyn) states 2 kids/2 living as in 1910 in states 3 kids/2 living and Emma is a Hannah, but the age compares to the 1910). 1900 also states Melvin born in IN but parents in OH and married 9 years. I also found a marriage certificate on line for Michael Aleck and Marie Golden Bonham for Feb 8, 1917 in Vigo County, IN. I would appreciated any dates you have. I guess to make sure this is my Richard Aleck
(middle name I think is Allen), would Linda or Norma know if he married a Mary Young in Michigan and had two children Joanne and Richard. I don't know when they divorced but the kids were really young and were adopted by Marys' second husband. There are a few rumors, but we don't know if they are true. Someone said Linda had TB when she was younger and spent a while in the hospital, Richard supposedly was epileptic? What kind of work was brother Michael and Richard involved in? I guess the most important thing is finding out if anyone knew if Richard was married to Mary for a few years. Do you know what happened to Michael and Golden?

Thank you for responding and I'll be waiting to hear something...good or bad.
Hi Deb,

The only other new information I have been able to obtain is that of Richard's Mothers line. I found Richard's mother (Golden Marie Bonham) in the 1910 census. It shows Golden's Parents as: Father M.H Bonham and mother "Hannah" (do not have the maiden name yet). It also shows that Golden had a sister named Madlyn. I have found some other information on Madlyn, but there are a few inconsistencies yet as too whether the info I have found on Madlyn Bonham is in fact "our" Madlyn Bonham (so be careful!)

I do info on Richards siblings. I dont have all of the DOB and DOD info for all of them but would be happy to share if you need it. Richard's sister, Geraldine, was my grandmother. I know of two of Richard's sisters, Norma and Linda, who are still alive.

Thanks and hope to hear from you soon,

Bill Coury

Hi Bill
Wondering if you have ever came up with any more info on the Michael & Golden Aleck family. I am following Richard, who in the census I think was Isnuit. There is a Richard Aleck in the SS Death index with the same birth as Isnuit, Richard died January 1976 but I don't know where or exact date. I found his brother Memmet died in CA in 1975, trying to find out what area to possibly find an obit. I am at a dead end with this family after the 1930 census. I couldn't find Michael and Golden in any census prior to 1930 either. Richard and his wife divorced and the kids never heard a word about their father or a name, until last year before she died. We were hoping he was still alive until we checked the death index.

Thanks. Deb
ggmdam@tds.net

I am looking for information on this particular family line:

Michael Aleck b. btwn 1897-1898 in Turkey. Immigrated to the US in 1909. Both of Michael's parents were also born in Turkey.

Michael married Golden Marie Bonham (b. abt 1901 in Indiana, parents also both born in Indiana). Marriage took place around 1901 in Indiana

Children:

Geraldine, Memmet, Evelyn, Linda, Norma, Mel, Michael and Richard. Some of the children's names may have been "americanized" as I have found other names for them in the 1930 census.

In 1930 they were living in Detroit. Also a cousin of Michael's - George Campbell, who was 41 in 1930, was living with this family at the time.

Please let me know if you have any information on this family
