I and some others researching the Ales,Ayles think that L.C. Ales daughter of Robert A. ALes is Kate Ales.Both are born in the same year 1853 in Mississippi.

Hello, I need help on a grandson of John A Dyal/Doyle and Christina Davis.
I'm trying to find information on Nicholas Edward Ailes who was born in July 1836 and is found in various spellings of his first name and of his last name in the 1870, 1880 and 1890 census.
Nicholas was born in Lewis Co., Ky to Thomas Aills and Ann Dyal. There were four children and the parents evidently died prior to 1850. Nicholas is found living with an uncle, Edward T. Doyle in 1850 in Indiana.
Nicholas and his wife Mary F were the parents of Eva Jane Ayles or Ales b 1856; Eliza A. Ayles or Ales b 1859; Thomas b 1863; Samuel b 1869 and Roy b 1877.

ALES, MINNIE LEE LAWLEY Minnie Lee Lawley Ales passed over on April 13, 2004 after her brave battle with cancer. She was born in Mississippi on December 9, 1920, and has been a resident of San Diego since 1949. She will be remembered for her loving disposition, independent nature, and her devotion to family and friends. She is survived by her four children Travis Smith of Oakdale Calif., Betty Dunnagan of Roslyn Wash., Louise Gore of San Francisco, Calif., and Lois Chase of Venice, Fla. She has six grandchildren Clyde, Charlie, Minnette, Dane, Charlo and Roxanne. Twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandsons. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2004 at 4 p.m., at First Lutheran Church 867 Lincoln Ave. El Cajon. Found an Amanda Ales in Lafayette Co. MS marriage record, married to Afro American Columbus Lyles in 1880. Also an Amanda Lyles married to an Afro American Dennis Hill in 1879 in Lafayette Co MS. My ggrandmother Amanda ethniticity is not really known. She looks caucasion, but not really sure. Also found an ALES family in the 1850 Mississippi Census. Do not have details from the census yet.

Enumerated on the 1860, 1870 & 1880 census Crawford County, MO. May have married again in 1883 if his wife died. Martha Jane married James Franklin Key in 1879. William B. Ales b about 1836 also enumerated in 1860 Crawford. Both Robert A. & William B. are with William P. & Lucretia Ales in 1850 Census Knox County TN

Hi Tom! My Ales ancestor, Rosalia, was born in the 1700's. Suggestions I have for tracing your folks back to Sicily: Get copies of your grandparents' Social Security Application, which will name their parents. Also try LDS microfilms & the new ellisislandrecords.org website! Good Luck!
