Alessandro--Italy to Cincinnati, OH

I hope this helps someone. I interviewed Tony Alessandro (Anthony Umberto Alessandro) in 2000 before he passed away. He was married to Millie Pellillo, who was the relative I was researching. Although he is not a relative, he told me important info about HIS family that may help someone. He was born 4/22/1913 in Italy. He came to America when he was 5, and said they went 28 days without seeing land. He was the youngest of 10 children. His whole family couldn't afford to come at once. He landed at Ellis Island. His parents were Salvatore &amp; Maria Alessandro. He didn't know his mother's maiden name. He had 4 sisters and 5 brothers.<br>Tony and Millie Alessandro never had children. They lived in Cincinnati, OH.

Alessandro Family

I am still doing research on my family and I recently found out they lived in Pueblo Colorado along with New Orleans and of course Texas. I notice there are not many messages on this board but if anyone has any information on them I would really appreciate sharing with you. There were 6 men who were the original members of Alessandro's Band in early 1900 Waco, Texas. They marched in the Baylor homecoming parades, played at the Cotton Palace and on the riverboats on the Brazos. My Great Uncle Victor started most of the school music programs in Houston and my Cousin Victor was the director of the San Antonio Symphony for 25 years. Thanks for your attention.
I replied earlier that the name probably was Alessandro. We have about 50 Antonio (Anthony/Tony) in our family. In Camporeale, Sicily today they changed Alessandro to Alexander. There are many Alexander(Alessandro) in Sicily now. Check under Camporeale. The city has a web site.
