John Alexander and Elizabeth had 8 daughters and 6 sons. f Edward (10th born child) married Ann Chandler. They had 7 children. Their sons Joseph and Matthias were tried 27th December 1830 charged with machine breaking during the Swing Rebellion, and sentenced to 7 years transportation. Arriving in Van Diemans Land on the "ELIZA" 28th May 1831. Another son John, baptised 20 December 1812 was also transported per "Georgiana", arriving February 1833. John married 1st Margaret Bourke 14 August 1837. Margaret died 25 February 1840. John then married Martha Coleman 11 February 1841. Martha was daughter of my ancesters William and Jane Coleman who arrived in Tasmania 1839 as migrants.

I have Elizabeth's name as BLACKSTONE. Edward, son of John and Elizabeth, also married an Elizabeth Blackstone.

I also have history of Alexanders from their arrival in Tasmania and successful business lives on the North West Coast of Tasmania, at Table Cape and Burnie.
