I am looking for the family of "Tom Alexis or Phil Alexis" the surname/last name may not be spelled correctly.

I met Tom the summer of 1971 and knew of Phil until about 1978. My understanding is that Phil had a "drop" mailbox at St. Christopher's Mission in Bluff, Utah and no other info is available and of course, many people have moved on.

Also I believe that Phil moved to the Denver, Colorado area with his sister [I do not know his sister's name].

I am taking a chance here in asking if you knew of either Tom or Phil and/or any information you might have. Any help is greatly, greatly appreciated and I may be reached at iijoanna@hotmail.com.

.....I do appreciate the help so far, I'm in the same boat, need to find a village, I did find something once but just a lot about a ski resort, guess I need to take it to city hall! I do have a friend named Sprague....I guess you know to search names that sound like your name, I found names like Alexsick or Olexick, etc.

....I'll look forward to hearing from your Mom, that's neat about your son's name! There was someone around here that wanted to give that name to their child too. By the way there may still be a picture of me at the school website in the Dept. of Fine Arts and Art History, they named a small Art Gallery for me at the School as I retired Professor, Emertius.

I am Ann. My great grandmother is Elizabeth Sproch. Her son, John francis Alexick also (later changed his name to John Victor)married Louise Galmish and gave birth to my mother, Katherine (Kate). She may have more information. I could give her an email address, she'd probably never find this website, she's not real computer savvy. I stumbled across it while googling my grandfather. By the way I thought the art gene came from my grandmother, maybe not. My mom was an art teacher and sis a designer! My email is fatturgirl@hotmail.com.

Unfortunately, I have no more information on the Alexick line. I am researching the Sproch line and one of the Sproch's married an Alexick, that's all the information I've got :( I'm trying to go into the old country for Sproch with no success either. Without a village name, we won't have any chance from what I understand.

Briefly, I'm David Francis Alexick, son of John Francis Alexick,who is a cousin of John V. so I just learned from my 95 year old father John F. who lives in Richmond, Virginia with my sister Karen Britton. Dad was born in Latrobe in 1912 to Elizabeth Petric and Steve Alexick. This is our stopping point for information about my ancestors in the Alexick or Petric line. We would be grateful for any information that you might have that would link the family to the "old country", and which one!

I'm David Francis Alexick, son of John Francis Alexick who was born 1912 in Latrobe, Pa. Dad's father was Steve Alexick, I don't have any dates for him and would like to know who Steve's parents were....he was born somewhere in Bavaria area though I'm not sure how accurate that is. I have a copy of his naturalization papers that indicate he was a "subject" of Czechoslovakia, not a citizen...aren't you glad we don't live in anybody's Kingdom!

That is a very interesting--and very close! I did find some obits in the Adams Memorial website that you might want to looks at. You'd have to order them, and it is quick and inexpensive.

My Dad, John Alexick, was from Latrobe Pa., he did have a brother Ed in Washington state so I believe, you may be his daughter or grand-daughter. I am John Alexick´s son, now 61, my dear Dad is 91! Linnie Christine Alexis, 78, Clarksville, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at Gateway Medical Center.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Wise officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Sykes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born August 25, 1928, in Limestone City, Alabama, to the late Andrew Johnson and Sarah (Davis) Johnson. In addition to her parents she was also preceded by her husband, Carl Lawrence Alexis Sr.

She formerly worked as a clerk at Joe Davenport Grocery and was a member of Greater Hope Baptist Church.

She is survived by sons, Larry Alexis Jr. and Danny Alexis of Clarksville; daughter, Elaine Robinson of Charlotte, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Alexis, Brian Alexis, Mike Rhodehamel, Scott Robinson, Eddie White and Andy White.

I am from Trinidad and my parents are Irwin and Mirian from Woodbrook and Petti Valley respectively. My grandparents are Irvin and Ruby, both are deceased and they had four children Irwin, Kathleen (Canada), Lennox and Myrna. I have eleven cousin in Trindad, Canada and England and my only sister is Ann. I attended Richmond Street Boys and Mount St. Benedict before comming to the US.

I came across your post today. I see that it is several years old.
My grandfather, Paul Borsos, came from Veliki Komjaty (there are several spellings) in 1912. His mother's maiden name was Mary Alexi. Perhaps a family member?
We actually visited Veliki Komjaty last summer and stayed with Borsos cousins who are still there.

I would love to hear from my childhood friend who lived across the street from me in Ingram Borough, near Pittsburgh, PA. Mary Kay lived in Ingram in the late 1950's and early 1960's. I think her mother's last name was Buchholz. Mary Kay is probably married but all I have is her childhood name.
