sorry to take so long to reply. We have been out of the country until just a few days ago.

My brother was tested on FamilyTree DNA, thru the National Geographic genographic project. I think the initial cost was $99. That is for the basic "12-marker" test. I really recommend that you go to the Familytreedna.com site and things are explained there in pretty simple terms. The cheapest test is sufficient to determine to which basic "haplogroup" your husband belongs -- and if he and my brother are NOT in the same group, it would be a piece of valuable information -- suggesting that we are not all descended from old Jacobo Algeo, papal legate. I am excited that your husband is considering it!
