There is a James H. Algeo who served in the Union regiment, Company G, 4th West Virginia Cavalry as Captain. He has an unclaimed Honorable Discharge Medal. His enrollment papers lists his age in 1863 as 38. Does anyone have more information about this soldier? I received a typed database listing of the W. VA 1860 Census which only lists a William D. Algeo of Cabell County and an Abraham Alger in Hampshire County.
