I have done extensive research on both Hyacinthe and Charles. Hyacinthe was born and raised on her father Jean Francois Allain's plantation at Pointe Coupee, La. Her mother was Marie Francois Ricard. Hyacinthe was born Jan 09, 1784 and died at the age of 90 on May 11, 1874. She and Charles married on Feb 28, 1807 in Pointe Coupee at St. Francis Catholic Church. Her grandfather was also named Jean Francois Allain and came from Tours France where he was born in 1703. He came to Lousiana with a French land grant as a very young man at the age of 18. He was one of the original French settlers in that area. He married another settlers daughter Marie Augustine DeHaussey after building a plantation at Pointe Coupee. Hyacynthe and Charles had eight children. Charles had come to the area in 1800 to survey the land for the Lousiana Purchase. He was from Perth Amboy New Jersey. Hyacynthe and Charles had extensive land holdings in the Pointe Coupee area. I hope this is some help to you. They were my g-g-g-grandparents. My mother is descended from their daughter Augustine.
