Classification: Query
I am looking for help with going back from John Allanson and Elizabeth Sterling and also with going "side-ways"
This is what I know...
(Please feel free to enlighten me as to any mistakes that I might have)

John Allanson B: 1813-1816 in Newcastle (?), England
*occupation was "engraver" (woodenengraver)
D: Feb. 11, 1853 in Toronto, Cananda

M: "July,Aug.,Sept.", 1839 in St. Pancras, London, Middlesex, England
to
Elizabeth Sterling B: abt. 1814 in Newcastle (?), England
D: 1851 in Toronto, Cananda

Together John and Elizabeth had 6 chlidren...

- George B: abt 1840 in Islington, London, England
- Louis H. B: abt 1842 in Leipzig, Saxony (?), England
- Elizabeth B: abt 1842 in England
- Anna B: abt 1843 in England
- Catherine B: abt 1844 in England
- Alfred William B: abt Sept.1848 on a ship, Atlantic Ocean

*Oct. 17, 1848 The John "Allinson" family arrived at the port of New York, New York from London, England on the ship "Margaret Evans". All the children are listed on the page after their parents and are listed as "Allison"
As far as I can tell, the family live in NY for a short time and then moved to Canada. Why, I don't yet know. Abt a year after they came to America Elizabeth, the mother, dies in Canada :( Two years after that John, the father, passed away in Canada...this leaves all the children under age and with no parents. I have no idea what happens to them and would LOVE to find out...I can not seem to find anything on them. The girls are harder to find of course because their names probably changed when(if) they married...and I think I found some of the boys later in life (married) but I can not be too certain, until I see more references or make some connections...

My line then follows through the youngest child, Alfred William Allanson.

What I know of Alfred through family tales is that he was born on a ship in the Atlantic Ocean (confirmed by the ship manifest), and that he worked in a "candy factory" (confirmed by a census for Buffalo, NY)
B: abt Sept. 1848
D: Jan. 27, 1904 in Marion Co., IN
buried on Jan. 29, 1904 in Marion Co., IN
@ Mt. Pleasant Cemetery
M: Rosetta Bailey (aka Rose) on Nov. 2, 1887 in Marion Co., Indiana

Together they had 7 children. 5 of which lived to adulthood.

- Charles Ernest B:March 20, 1889 in IN
D: ?
M: Blanche Wolfe
- Scott Herman B: Dec. 10, 1890 in IN
D: July 11, 1971
M: Katherine Eva Kichler
- Goldie May B: May 31, 1892 in IN
D: Aug. 3, 1898
- Alfred Sterling B:Aug. 3, 1894 in Whiteland,Johnson,IN
D: March 8, 1932
M: Ruth V. Noggle
- Beulah Blanch B: Dec. 10, 1896 in IN
D: July 18, 1898
- George Silven B: May 3, 1899 in IN
D: Oct. 1958
M: Stella Ruggles
- Harry Ervin B: Oct. 11, 1901 in IN
D: ?
M: ? (but I do not believe he ever did)

**What I did not know of Alfred (in fact no one in the family did) is that, I beleive, he was married before Rosetta and all his children. In his younger years, I have information that he was married on Oct. 20, 1869 to an Emilie Alkinson(Atkinson)in Buffalo, NY. In the 1870 census I believe it is the two of them living in Racine, WI. Later in the 1880 census they are living in Buffalo, NY w/ a daughter "Ida" B: abt 1871 in NY. Then...nothing and seven years later Alfred is in Indiana married to Rose and having a large family...

The rest of my family line is through Scott Herman Allanson and his wife. Together they had 9 children...and the tree continues to grow from there :)

If any of these people are familiar to you or you would like to know if I have any more information on them, please feel free to reply. I would love to talk to anyone who is relation.
If you have any information on John and/or Elizabeth (the first two to come over from our line) please fill me in...
If there is anything you beleive I have wrong, please tell me and I will check my references. I would hate to post incorrect information.

Thank you in advance for any help!
and Happy hunting :)
