Is anyone researching William S. Allcorn? He served with my great-grandfather James H. Crocker, and in 1902 while living in Cullman Co, AL gave an affadavit to support my great-grandmother who was seeking a widow's pension. I am trying to find out if the Allcorns and Crockers were related in anyway. Here are some details of W.S. Allcorn's serice:
Floyd Co, GA Confederates, Vol. 8, by Shirley F. Kinney, publ 1992:
pg. 17 William S. Allcorn
Pvt, March 10, 1862, Co C 40th GA Regiment
Captured at Atlanta GA Aug 13 1864;
Released at Point Lookout, MD, June 4, 1865.
Appears in the Tax Digest for Floyd Co. GA in 1866, so he returned to his home in Georgia.
Hope this information helps someone.
