I've been reading this board with interest regarding the Allie family with ties to Wythe/Montgomery counties in Virginia and Putnam county in Indiana.

I am trying to determine if our Roda Elizabeth (born in Jan 1823 or Jan 1825 in VA) may belong to this Allee family.

In 1850, she is shown as Roda E Lewis in Cove Creek area of Tazewell County, VA
In 1860, she is shown as REE. Lewis in Cloverdale, Putnam county, IN.
Her husband, John Lewis, only shows in county tax records beginning in 1843.

The family was much travelled and very few records survive on her beyond the census, no marriage cert in VA, and no death cert in Dallas, TX where she died in 1903.

The only possible clue to her maiden name comes from MO death cert of her daughter, Mary Tate in Henry county, MO. The handwriting is sloppy but it could be Abbie or Allie or Allee or even Affil. Original is online at http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/#...

Wythe is geographically very close to Tazewell as is Mongtomery County, and I am curious where in Putnam county were the Allie family branches located, and if anyone may have a "missing" female in their tree who was born in early 1820's in Virgina? I realize this is an extreme longshot, but if you don't ask, you'll never know..
