I'm a direct descendent of Jean D'Allee (1594-1670) of France (no more specific location w/i France; sorry). The only father I can find for him is someone named Jean Helie (1573-1669) of Meneac, Morbihan, Bretagne, France. On this site, I found four children of his: Jean Helie b. 1573, Jean D'Allee b. 1594, Jean Helie dit Breton b. 1617, and another Jean Helie b.1621. Can someone explain why the name D'Allee stops and Helie begins? And why are there four sons with different last names and different dates of birth? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
