And folks, that's about all I know about my gr granfather except that he may have married Emma in 1881. They had several children including, of course, my grandmother Mamie Gladys Allen, Baby Doll Allen, and Lela? Allen (there were more). Charley moved to Texas, Falls County where the family stayed until my mom, Ida Mary (May) was born. Race (?), all creoles, so who knows what they were in 1850. I got my Mom's DNA done before she passed and she was 46% European + or - 2%. I'm so confused ... HELP! I would like to follow my maternal line as far back as I can so I am hoping Charley can lead me to Emma's maiden name as well. Thanks everyone!
