John ALLEN, according to family notes, was born in VA abt. 1745/54 and migrated to GA abt. 1787/91, possibly from SC or NC. He settled in Burke Co., GA. John ALLEN was a Revolutionary War soldier. He was the grantee to four land grants in Burke Co., GA in 1787. John ALLEN probably had two marriages; his eldest known child, James, being by 1st marriage, the other known children, Ava, Andrew John, Rachel, Elizabeth"Betsy", Jeremiah, and Polly, by his 2nd marriage. Nothing is known about his wives' names. His daughter Ava, b. abt. 1780, was married to Daniel INMAN abt. 1794 in Dandridge, Jefferson Co., TN. Daniel INMAN was the son of Shadrach INMAN and Mary Jane MCPHEETERS. Daniel INMAN was a Revolutionary War soldier in the GA militia. Ava and her husband Daniel INMAN settled in Burke Co., GA also. Andrew John ALLEN (My ancestor), was married to Elizabeth HOLLINGER abt. 1805/08. Elizabeth HOLLINGER was the daughter of William HOLLINGER and Sarah BRACK. William was the son of Titus HOLLINGER and his wife Martha GADDY of Richmond Co., GA. Sarah BRACK was the daughter of Richard BRACK and his wife Elizabeth MURRELL. Andrew John and Elizabeth's first born, Andrew Young John ALLEN, was married to Jane WOOTEN, they were the parents of the prominent 19th century Methodist missionary to China, Dr. Young John ALLEN, b. Jan. 3, 1836 in Burke Co., GA. Dr. Young John ALLEN, orphaned shortly after his birth, was raised by an aunt in Meriwether Co., GA. John ALLEN's daughter, Rachel was married to William MURPHREE. His daughter, Elizabeth"Betsy" ALLEN was married to Lanier ALBRITTON. Jeremiah ALLEN was married to Nancy(last name unknown). Polly ALLEN was married to John MCDONALD. Any information at all, regarding John ALLEN, b. 1745/54, his parents/siblings/wives/children/descendants, will be appreciated.
