My husband is a descendant of Jacob and Catherine (Hahn) Alles from Dubois county. We are working hard on a hisotry of their son, Captain John Jacob Alles, who fought in the Civil War. We know of Michael and Catherine, but do not have much information on the rest of his brothers and sisters. There are supposed to be 10 children, but we only have the five who are listed on the ship's passenger list. Can you give us any help? also, do you know anything about the locations of the Captain's sword, uniform, etc? We are making a display for the local museum and would like to find as much of his memorabilia as possible to add to the display. The items would be loaned to the museum.
