Rank and organization: Corporal, U.S. Army, Company H, 131st Infantry, 33d Division. Place and date: At Chipilly Ridge, France, 9 August 1918. Entered service at: Chicago, Ill. Born: 13 July 1887, Prizren, Serbia. G.O. No.: 44, W.D., 1919. Citation: At a critical point in the action, when all the officers with his platoon had become casualties, Cpl. Allex took command of the platoon and led it forward until the advance was stopped by fire from a machinegun nest. He then advanced alone for about 30 yards in the face of intense fire and attacked the nest. With his bayonet he killed 5 of the enemy, and when it was broken, used the butt of his rifle, capturing 15 prisoners.

I am Alexiou from the same Island your relatives come from however I am about 100 miles away from your Alexiou. I don't think we are close relatives but I am going to be in Greece all summer and I plan to spend summers there every year. If you like I could look up for your relatives. My Allex's come from Greece. My grandfather's name was Panigiotis Allexiou and it changed to Allex when he came over.

Hi! My husband's grandfather was Conrad Allex's half brother, Martin. I have Martin and Hulda Allex's marriage license, and noticed that Conrad and Lena were witnesses at their wedding. The famous Allex family portrait was taken at Martin and Hulda's wedding; Conrad and Lena, according to my records, were married just two months later.

In the Allex pedigree for Bernard Allex---it said that his parents were Aloysius Allex and Helen Koll and I do not believe that this is true. Bernard is my uncle and his father is Conrad Allex and Lena Welter . It says that in your pedigree that these people were their grandparents.
