I am quite excited to read your message, because we might be related. (and you know how exciting it is to find living relatives, albeit distant ones!)
William Allis and Thirza Brookes wre my g g grandparents on my dad's side. The only discrepancy is that I thought William's father was Samuel Allis, a farmer. (I can't remember now where I got that info from, but will check when I have time.) William and Thirza had a large family, amoung them was James, whose son, Gilbert, was my grandfather. He emigrated to S.Africa around 1902 (approx).
Anyway, do you have any more info? I would love to know anything else at all.
I am in the U.K, but was born in S.Africa.
