Yes, actually there is a connection. According to the research of Doris Noland Parton, Mary S. Horsley's husband Moses Parton was the brother of Dolly Parton's ancestor Benjamin Parton. Benjamin Parton was also the security for his brother Moses Parton's marriage bond to marry Mary Horsley in 1828.
