I saw your request: I have Sarah E. Allmon in my family who married Archibald Armstrong who was born 1830 in Pennsylvania. Sarah born in Tennessee, died in Salem, Illinois, daughter of Canady Allmon & Rebecca. I do not have her children if any. Canady died in Illinois before 1880, married in Tennessee, had 9 children matching your list.Except Lorenzo D. married Mary E. Williams.I hope this helps a little.
Re: Pine Ridge South Dakota, Allman, Fasteagle, Fastwhirlwind, Her Many Clothes, Shangreau. Red Cloud

Hello,
I did not know there were various spellings. I will take your spelling and add it to my spellings. There is alot out there on the above. I have not downloaded it as I'm still looking for my actual connection. Only, I can not find anyone who will go back and look through their information and or what I'm looking for is not in their information. This is what I do know. Samuel Allman is suppost to be my fathers cousin. My father Raymond White. His father is John Allen Almon/William Walter White born 1889. This John William's great grandfather could be the same great grandfather as Samuel Almon 1886 married to Rosa Shangreaux Pine Ridge. The great grandfather's I think were both from Ark and Mississippi depending on which doc's you look at. The William Almon I'm looking for might have stopped over in Durant Mississippi and spent some time with a Helen Saphira Tate Siddon around 1865-66. Married, don't know? During that time they had a child named John Allen Almon born Sept 30 1889 Durant Mississippi or surrounding county. I have a few pictures of Samuel Allman and he and family/friends would come to Seattle Washington to visit John Allen Almon who also went by the following names: William Walter White, Gene White, Eugene White. His mother was Lula/Lulu/Luella etc. Williams and father was John Ira Almon. One of John's wife's name was Flossie Crabtree. He did not tell many true stories and he changed names to fit whatever. But, I am sure about Samuel and the pictures. We did have a photo of Sam after he shot a buffulo. It is now gone and we are trying to find another one. My father Raymond remembers going to Pine Ridge as a child to visit Sam and Rosa. So you can see there is a connection. They all use to go to Lapwai Idaho to visit people there. I believe they were Sam's sister and family. Sam's great or grandfather did come from the south and so did John William'family. I believe this is the connection until someone can verify or change the information. My dad is still alive and he might be able to answer some questions you might have. Let me know where you are at on the research and I will try and add what ever I have or find. Please add to my information if you can. Email direct Hanz175@hotmail.com

Ruby L. Reed m. Sagel/Sagely Allmon, 1941, Cannon Co., TN

Is anyone familiar with a Ruby Lee Reed who, according to my information, married a Sagel (or Sagely, Segal, etc..) Allmon in Cannon Co., TN in 1941. Both were born about 1920ish. Sagel's father, I think, would be Oscar Allmon. Ruby Lee was a daughter of William Elburn and Nannie Belle Lorance Reed. Both families appear in Rutherford Co. at times. Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated!

Ruby Fay Allmon Moody

My great aunt Ruby Fay Allmon Moody lived in Paradise for many years and died in the Decatur hospital in June 1995. She had no children. Her husband, Jess Frank Moody, had a son by his first marriage. Both Aunt Ruby and Jess are buried in Mount Olivet in Fort Worth.

Aunt Ruby had about 6 very large portraits of her grandparents and great-grandparents....who are my great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents. I have tried for several years to find what happened to those portraits.

By chance, would anyone have any clues? Know Jess Frank Moody's son, know anyone local who might have handled an estate sale, know of antique dealers who might be a resource?

I know this is a long-shot...but any help is appreciated.

William Allman, DeKalb Co., GA, 1840 Census

Can anyone help me identify William Allman who appears in the 1840 census of District 636, DeKalb Co., Georgia, in the 1840 census? William is aged 60-70 with a female of the same age, and one male 5-10, 2 males 10-15, one female <5, and two females 10-15.

Does anyone have ideas on what line this William belongs to and where he came from?

He is the right age to be the child of John Richard Allman, b. abt 1750 in NC, who is said by some to have had a son William who married Lovey Casey, but I have yet to find evidence of what happened to this William.

There is a William Allman in Franklin Co., GA, in 1830, but he is listed then as being 60-70 and has no one in the household who would correspond to the 60-70 year old female in the 1840 DeKalb census.

Thanks for any assistance.

--John Gillon

I need to identify one Mary Aulman who appears in the 1870 census of Fulton Co., GA, aged 37, born GA. Also in the household are:

--Thomas 19 GA
-- Martha 16 GA
-- Nellie or Hellie 15 GA
-- Robert 12 GA
-- James 10 GA

This household lives alongside a number of households related to my other lines (Brown, Wells). If I can identify this family, it may help me find the parents of my 3rd great grandfather, Green V. Almand b. 1809 GA. I believe Green's brother was Asmon R. Almand.

Re: James Allmon Cannon Co. TN.

I am wondering if I have found Robert. Not sure, but if you connect the dots, it looks a lot like the right one. Robert is shown in the 1870 Cannon Co TN census in the household of his parents James & Francis Allmon. He's shown as Robert, age 9, b TN. He is gone from home by 1880 but I can't find him in 1880. I am wondering if he went to Indian Territory because they had no 1880 census. He's not in any of the 1880 federal census records that I can find.

In 1900 Marshall Co OK there is an Aaron R. Allmon b. abt 1861/62 b. TN married to Maggie (Dodd). In 1910 Marshall Co OK there is a James R. Allmon 49, widowed, b. TN who has the exact same children in his HH as Aaron R. Allmon in 1900. His son Joseph Edward Allmon's WW1 Draft registration says his father's name is Robert Allmon, so in the 1900 and 1910 census records, the middle initial R must stand for Robert. Everything else fits as far as age, where born, where parent's born, etc. Does this match any of your information on Robert? Thanks, Pat

Have connected my Elizabeth Allmon to your Ira Kendle Allmon family. Elizabeth was daughter of Thomas Allmon and Charlotte Despain. Elizabeth married Thomas M. Maghan (McGhan) 21 Dec. 1869 in Webster Cty, MO. They relocated eventually to Tioga, TX with the Moore family. My mother is Jewell E. Moore, daughter of Sarah C. Maghan (McGhan) and Robert H. Moore. Jewell was born in Tioga, TX. Sarah - her mother was born in Marshfield, MO, Robert, Sarah's husband was born in Seymour, MO. Can definitly connect branch through census records and published documentation. Contact me for more information and sources. Are you aware of Kendall Despain's informaton at Ancestry.com? He covers the Despains/Allmon's, etc. very thoroughly.
Doris (Turner) Cunningham - Indiana

Thomas & Charlotte )Despain) Allmon are the parents of my great-grandmother - Elizabeth Allmon. Elizabeth married Thomas M. Maghan 21 Dec. 1869 in Webster Cty, MO. The Maghan's had Sarah Charlotte Maghan - my grandmother. She married Robert Houston Moore in 1890 - Stafford, Greene Co., MO (I have copy of marriage certificate - name is spelled McGhan rather than Maghan). Sarah & Robert had 15 children, 10 lived - my mother Jewell Elizabeth Moore is on of the 10 - she married Robert B. Turner in 1927 in Whitesboro, TX. Jewell was born in Tioga, TX in 1908 (they were neighbor's to Gene Autry family - what a hoot). Anyway, if you'd like more information, please contact me. Just returned from geneology trip to Missouri, Texas and Tennessee last week. Found correct spelling for Elizabeth's last name on that trip and made connection this evening to rest of family members.
Doris (Turner) Cunningham - Indiana
