My previous message I incorrectly listed my birth father's middle name. His whole name was Russell Marion Allnutt. He married Mary Jane Troutman (Her Dad's last name was Lightner). I have 3 brothers and 6 sisters, all raised in Missouri in Foster/adoption homes. I was raised by Ross W. Jennings and his wife Elma (Trego). Foster relatives Eunice and Dell Tannehill. I was told my birth father died in 1962. Mary Jane Allnutt (Troutman) my birth Mother whereabouts is unknown. She may still be in Missouri. She is in her 70's. I would really like to find her, or find out what happened to her.

Allnutt/Helmuth family connections

We are trying to figure out why the Helmuth and Allnutt names seem to be interchangeable. My husband's ggg grandfather Johannes Helmuth was born in Germany 1771 and died in England. He had a son while in England having the surname Allnutt. Johannes' son, Frederich born 1794 in Germany is listed with the children of Henry Allnutt and Catherine Argles Alnutt (as a son) but with the surname of Helmuth.

Friederich immigrated to the US in 1817 and died in Ohio. We have found no further connection in my husband's direct line. However, the Nebraska Helmuth's have Allnutt children listed and the Allnutt's in Nebraska have both Helmuth and Allnutt surnames.

Can anyone shed any light on this puzzle? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Birth Mom, Mary Jane Troutman was born 1920-1923, daughter of Ira (Jack) Troutman and Corine (Queenie) Lightner. She married Russell M. Allnutt (Alnutt) Dec 16, 1938 in Carroll County, near Chillicothe, MO. They had ten children between 1939 and 1953, before splitting up in 1955, and neither one keeping any of us children.

I recently discovered birth mom, has one living sister, Irene. Aunt Irene told me the last time she heard from Mary Jane, many, many years ago, she was living in New York.

I'd like to know whether my birth Mom is still alive or not. There are family health questions and ancestry information that might be helpful. peggylewis@comcast.net
Hi, I am actually researching the Nuttall Family, but I am wondering if there is a chance that the name was turned around at some point in time. The Nuttall's that I am in were last found in Davisess Co KY. The only male name I have for them is Charles Nuttall. You seem to have a lot of knowledge of your family hope that you know if I should persue this line or go back to the NUTTALL spelling. Thanks for any help at all.
