Rodger K Allum (Allem)

Am seeking info about Rodger K Allum about 84 years old (possibly Roger Craig Allum). My neighbor wants to find him. Somewhere on a website a few days back during a search I saw his name Rodger K Allum in Chanute. It had no further information. He may have a relative Andrew Scott Allem in his early to mid 40's.

The surname interchanges and they seem to move frequently.
zabasearch is what I used
As an `heirloom` my aunt has left me 90+ black and white photos from the late 1800`s early1900s perhaps even earlier. The photos are awesome, but we are clueless to who the people in the photos are. Perhaps you have the same ones with names affixed....Oh I do hope so. This is driving me mad.
I know they are related to the ALLUM / CREASEY families of Suffolk UK.
You can find them all here.....https://sites.google.com/site/allumcreaseyfamiliesofsuffolk/

Hi. My great grandfather was John Frederick Allam, son of Emma Franklin and Charles Allam. I would be interested in knowing more about this side, as JF Allam stayed in Brighton, UK, and we don't have much information on him.

Thanks.

Staci

I am looking into this Benjamin and think he was married before Olivia possibly to an Elizabeth who was the mother of Thomas William. On 1851 he is a publican and widowed with mother Ann winkworth
Later he married Rhoda Butler and his father is named as William a labourer.

Unknown Allum Family Photos

As part of our family’s photo digitization project, my wife came across a handful of black and white photos from the early 1900s. The photos are awesome, but we are clueless to who the people in the photos are.

I know that they are relatives of Helen M. Allum (b. 20 Mar 1890 in Belmont Co., Ohio; d. 7 Sep 1977 in Orange Co., California). Her family tree is as follows:

Father’s Side: Allum
1-John Allum (1840-1927) & Nancy Panthena Wallace (1842-1902)
....2- Edward Lee Allum (1865-1927) & Sarah Viva Fletcher (1864-1938)
........3-Helen M. Allum (1890-1977)

Mother’s Side: Fletcher
1-Thomas Fletcher (1835-1920) & Nancy Jane White (1843-1928)
....2-Sarah Viva Fletcher (1864-1938) & Edward Lee Allum (1865-1927)
........3-Helen M. Allum (1890-1977)

I haven’t researched brothers & sisters of the aforementioned; this is all the info I have on our family’s direct line.

Some of the photos have a cardstock matte which they are attached. Most are from Bellaire, OH. The photos have the following businesses & cities on them:

Business Name & City
Walton in Harvey, IL
O.C. Henry in Bellaire, OH & Zanesville, OH
Sellars	in Bellaire, OH
Tappan/Jappan in Bellaire, OH
Benson in Bellaire, OH
Baker in Barnesville, OH
Barnes in Barnesville, OH
Burkholder in Miffin, OH
Hawkins	in Waynesburg, PA
Leschinsky in Grand Island, NE
Higgins	in Wheeling, WV
Ashman in Baltimore, MD

If you have any info that you can share as to who these individuals may be, please let me know! The photos are available to view on Flickr:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/96636325@N00/sets/7215762725092...

Charles George Allam.

Charles Frederick William Allam (born 1860 - 1916 Canada) married Emma Eliza Franklin (born 1864 - ?) they had 18 children.

The eldest surviving 3 - Charles, John and Rose stayed in the UK.
The next two - James and Albert went to Australia.
All of the rest - Edith, Eugenie, Harold, Elsie, Ivy and Sidney emigrated to Canada.

My mother never knew any of her grand fathers relatives and its only now that we have discovered they went to Australia and Canada.

Have you managed to find out anymore information? I have found out who most of them married in Canada (except for Sidney) but its difficult to search births and marriages from the UK..

Jenni

Hi Gary, I am Marilyn L. Allum, daughter of Herbert and cousin to your Dad, Al. I remember talking with my Dad (Herb) and your Grandpa Allum. As I understood it, their name in Scotland was "Mac Callum"....which will take you on a whole different track with a family crest, mottos, etc.in Scotland.I gave most of my info to Daniel Allum (my nephew) who works on the Allum Tree on ancestry.com too. Now if we could just find the name of that last allum "sheep stealer" in Scotland we would really have something neat.

My father knows very little of his family history and I am trying to trace the family tree. His mother was a cockney who came to Southern Ontario with her family - he doesn't remember his grandparents' names but he knows that Elsie had a sister named Edith, and two brothers - Sidney and Harold. My mother says that there are possibly two more sisters - Margaret and Ivy. Dad also says that some members of the family went to Australia instead of to Canada

My father's mother died in 1968 and he and his brother remember very little about the family. The only information that they remember is that her name was Elsie, she immigrated from England with her mother (not sure of father) and her siblings - Edith, Sidney, Harold, and possibly Margaret and Ivy. Other members of the family went to Australia. Immigration was probably after 1911 and she was a cockney

Greetings from Sydney Australia !

I have 3 brothers by the surname Allum in my family: Thomas Allum (my Gt Gt Grandfather) born Beenham Berkshire 1811 to James Allum and Sarah nee Lewis. Thomas also had 2 brothers: Richard Allum born 1818 and James Allum born Bradfield Berkshire 1822.

The 3 brothers were arrested in 1840 and charged for sheep stealing at the Berkshire Assises and transported in 1840 to Australia. Richard & Thomas to Sydney and James to Port Arthur Tasmania. Any light you may shed would be most appreciated !

Kind regards

Ross Berry

Hi Chris

I have replied to another message of yours the other day. Albert Ashley Allum was my Great Grandfather. Yes, he did abandon his wife and 4 children. He was married to my Grandmother, Kathleen Allum nee Stevenson and had Charles 1928, Albert 1930, Beryl 1933 and John 1940. After she gave birth to John, my Grandmother found out that another lady in Wales had also given birth, I think to a 2nd child. Albert Ashley was arrested (not sure what for what)but Grandmother told them to release him. He left her destitute in London with the children and went on to have more children in Wales. In the 60's the Welsh Charles and John (yes he named them the same) came visit my Aunt Beryl and she introduced them as her husband's relations. But my Grandmother knew who they were and she was okay with it. She had happily remarried to a lovely man called Jack. I never met Albert Ashley, but my Dad (Charles Ashley) took my brother to see him in Wales before he died in the 1960's.

Michelle Turnbull nee Allum
Hi Julie

I am also a Great Grand-daughter of Charlie. His son Ashley was father to my Dad, Charles Ashley Allum. Charles Allum died in 1918, 10 years before my Dad was born. Ashley abandoned my Grandmother in 1940 with 4 children and had another family of about 6 - 7 children and he named 3 of them with the same names of 3 of his children - Charles,John and Beryl. I would be interested to know if you found out about the other son's of Charles ie Arthur, Charles and John.

Michelle Turnbull nee Allum

Hi Chris

I am not sure if you are still looking. But I was born and raised in North Kensington in 1958. My father's name is Charles Ashley Allum, born May 1928 and his Father was called Ashley Allum. Born I think between 1900 and 1905. He married my Grandmother, Kathleen Stevenson born Nov' 1905 in 1928 and had my Father plus 2 more son's Albert 1930 and John 1940. They also had a daughter Beryl in 1933. He deserted my Grandmother after she discovered he had another family near Wales. I met 2 of them in the 1960's after they visited my Aunt. There was about 6 or 7 of them in the end and the eldest boy's were called Charles and John plus a daughter Beryl.

My Nan always told me we had a famous Boxer in the family. So that must have been Charles Kipper Allum, her father in law and my Great Grandfather. Our Grandfathers were brothers, so we are related.

I would love to hear from you.

Michelle Turnbull nee Allum

Allum Fry Families PA OH

I have uploaded a GEDCOM of the Fry-Schramm-Allum families from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland, as well as Germany. I really know very little about these families and cannot verify the information. What is presented is based entirely on my father's statements. What makes this difficult is that his statements do not coincide with documents I saw as a young man.

James Leroy Fry [1871-1945] and Emma Elizabeth Schramm [1875-1952] were my grandparents. I am not certain about their parents. Louisa Allum [1834-1914] was probably my great-grandmother, married to Isaac Fry [1838-1903].

If anyone has any corroborating information, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you!
