My third great-grandmother is Susannah Alms. I believe that she may be the daughter of George W. Alms and Margaret Smeltzer. She was born on 11 Oct 1830 in Pennsylvania. She married Jeremiah Welker on 24 Mar 1853 in Westmoreland County (I have a copy of their marriage certificate). From there, they moved to Larwill, Indiana and on to Seneca, Missouri. I know that George and Margaret did have a daughter named Susannah. Could my Susannah be her?

Thanks for all of your help

Hi,
I am an Alms, my uncle once told me that all Alms in the US are related. So far I have yet to prove him wrong. The brothers came from Germany first settling in Indiana then spilt up to Ohio, Illinois, and Minnesota, and other states. I would be interested in seeing which Alms you have in your tree.
Roxanne

I have, with help, grafted 4 families of alms together. I am curious to know if these sound familiar to anyone. They do link to the couple posted above by Elspeth. The family dates back to 1680 & into Bedford. Capt James alms 1728 has a few momentos available on the internet about his naval career. I am looking for information about his siblings and children. Or even connections. Thanks

I also have Kiskers in my family line from Cincinnati, OH. I have not been able to find any information on them at all. The only informaiton I have was given to me from my mom and grandmother, who is now deceased. My great-great-grandfather was Heinrich Kisker born November 10, 1820, and died January 15, 1884. He married Theresia Hanke born January 18, 1824 and died June 8, 1892. They had many children, two of which made it to adulthood, Anna, and my great-grandmother, Elizabeth Kisker. Now Elizabeth Kisker married Henry Herman Jaspers.

Please let me know if any of this information sounds familiar.

Thanks
Mary Ann Rodgers
