Death of Mr. John Alonso in India

Anyone interested in a copy of the U.S. Department of State's "Report of the Death of an American Citizen" for Mr. John Alonso, please contact me so I can conduct research to locate the record. Mr. Alonso died in India on May 14, 1940.

Very interesting indeed. I have an uncle named Jose Benito Alonso and is the mayor of the town of Pontevedra in the Philippines. Our ancestors were from Bilbao, Vizcaya.

Of Melbourne Beach, FL, died on November 11, 2005 at Homes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. Born in Havana, Cuba on February 6, 1921 to Marcelino and Dolores Roca Alonso, he moved to Melbourne in 1980 from Bethesda, MD. He was a nuclear physicist and educator, former professor at Georgetown University Graduate School and Florida Tech and author and co-author of multiple physics textbooks used worldwide.
Survivors include his daughters, Esther (Tom) Capotosta, Christina (Joe) D'Erasmo, Marta (Kevin) Street, and Teresa (Peter) Thompson, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

It is an interesting coincidence. My father's name is Jose Benito Alonso born in 1911 in Tuy/Pontevedra/Spain. He married Ema Alonso in Brazil in 1948, where he lived until he died in 1969.

Looking for relatives of MATILDE ALONSO de Garcia de Quevedo. By 1910 Matilde had married Lt. Luis Garcia de Quevedo y Muñoz and lived with him, his mother and his siblings at a Military Reserve, in San Juan, PR . In the census of 1920 it showed they had relocated to Caguas, Puerto Rico. By 1930 they lived in Barrio Santurce, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Matilde Alonso and Luis Garcia de Quevedo had 3 children: Matilde Garcia de Quevedo y Alonso (1911) Luisita (1912) and Maria Teresa (1917). Her husband was a General Practice MD (Doctor).

My Grandfather came from Candas Spain and grandmother from Aviles Spain and married in Clarksburg WVA in the teens. My father was born there also. My family and I visited Spain several years ago and found relatives, cousins, there. I realize it has been several years since you have posted this and please email me if you "trip" over this again.

My grandfathers name was Jose Haro Alonso. He was born in Madrid Spain, moved to Cuba and then to the San Francisco area. It seems that I remember someone by the name of Harold in the family. My grandfather died around 1994 and he was in his 80's. please contact me.

He was in his 80's when he died around 1994
I remember him talking about a brother by the name of Mauel.
He went back to Madrid Spain around the 1980 to visit for the first time since he left Madrid. His wifes name was Mary Alonso and her maiden name was Moreno.

We may be able to work together. My grandfather was born in Spain, Madrid I think, and went to Cuba as a young man. His name was Jose Haro Alonso. I am finding out from this board that many spanish people where is Cuba at the same time. How old would your father be. My Grandfather then later move to the San Francisco area? Please contact me.

My grandfather Jose Haro Alonso, was born in Spain but immigrated to Cuba and then came to the San Francisco area. He died around 1973 and he was in his 80's.
He married in Redwood City to my grandmother Maria Alonso.
Please contact me. My grandfather had a brother in another relative living in the Redwood City area by the name of Johnny Alsonso.

My Grandfathers name was Jose Haro Alonso. He was from Spain, I believe Madrid and he settled in San Francisco area I believe in his early 20's. He married Mary Moreno in Redwood City, Ca. She was born in Barsolona Spain I believe.

My name is Joel. My grandfather was Daniel Alonso of Sada, Spain. He moved to Cuba, and then New York after the Spanish Revolution. He was the oldest of 21 children. Some of his brothers and sisters were: Rita, Antonio, Victoria, Aquilina, Benedicta, and Atanasio. His parents were named Atanasio Alonso and Rita Conseiro Alonso. This is a real long shot, and the date is really way off, but here goes.
My father was Emilio Alonso Gonzalez and his grandfather (and great grandfather?) had moved to Cuba from Spain many, many moons ago.
The were from a region in Spain called Leon, a town called Villablino, I think. A connection? Don't know

El padre de mi abuela se llamaba Jose Navarrete y fue un oficial de la Armada de Espana y su madre fue Pilar Lugo.

"ALONSO - Mrs. Oliva Alonso, twenty-eight years old, died at a local hospital at 10 o'clock yesterday morning. The funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon from the residence at Fifteenth street and Seventh avenue. Interment will be made in the Centro Asturiano Cemetery, in charge of W. Primo Lord, funeral director. Besides her husband, Pamos? Alonso, the deceased in survived by one small child."

I am trying to locate information on Danny W. Alonso. He was of Florida... all I know is that he has a daughter, Christina born about 1966-1967??

I have a very OLD address and phone #, and a lead or two, on where he might have lived before he died...

Sorry, I forgot to add... My Mother's name was Barbara A. Bland at the time, and my sister's name is Carla Marie.

I was told that back in the 70's, Danny worked for Coke, delivering to food services and such, which is how my Mom and Danny met...

I hope that something rings a bell with someone, as my Mom just passed away on August 17, 2002, at the age of 52.
