ESCAPED FROM HOSPITAL
The Remains of a Miner Found Near South McAlester
South McAlester: Preston Crutcher, a laborer on one of the railroads here, started out to search for Peter Alphonso, the miner who escaped from the hospital while delirious. He found the dead body of the man lying near a creek about two miles west of town. The body was badly bloated and appeared to have been lifeless for several days.
The hospital physicians are of the opinion that the man died the night he made his escape, as he was practically in a dying condition when he effected his escape. Crutcher will get a reward of $75. The hospital offiered $25 and the fellow miners of the deceased offered $50.
