Rachel's husband was Preston Fitzgerald, who was born in Pa about 1815 if the 1850 Farmington, Clarion, Pa census is correct. He must have died sometime in the 1850's as Rachel is found back with her parents in the 1860 census and in the 1870 census.

Rachel and Preston's children were:

Harvey J. Fitzgerald (born about 1847)
Viola L. (born abt 1848 and mistakenly entered as Phebe L. in the 1850 census, but correctly entered as Viola in the 1860 census.
Mathias G. (born abt 1850)
Hannah D. (born about 1852)

In the 1860 census, Rachel is with her parents and has only son Harvey with her. The girls (Viola, age 12, and Hannah, age 8 are staying with friends and/or relatives). By 1870 sons Harvey and Mathias and daughter Hannah are back with their mother Rachel.
