I have Jacob's death date but not the others. Can you give me that information?
Any possibility I can get copies of those death certificates? I will gladly reimburse you for the copies and postage, or if you can scan them and e-mail them to me that would be fine too.
Why do you think there is so much confusion over Susannahs maiden name? Do you think she was married to someoneone else before Harrison?
Fred

I will continue to pursue this. Any input would be appreciated. I have a copy of Harrison's death certificate if anyone is interested.
Fred

Alsman stuff

Hi Tracey,
The last few days I thought I would check to see if there was any new Alsman information, and just kind of poked around the Jessamine and Sullivan County boards which from what I can remember were the biggest sources of info. For some reason I didn't remember about the Alsman board, which I should have, because you and I had an interesting "discussion" on it several months ago.
Anyway as I now look at the Alsman board, nothing new is on it, and that may be due to what you say is a lack of any new information.
A couple of things have happened to some of my other family lines that I just want to share with my Alsman kin. It has nothing to do directly withe Allsmans, but should give us something to think about.
I am a Neuhart descendant, and 4 volumes have been written about the Neuharts, with lineage going back over 1000 years. As it turns out, I know the man who wrote these 4 volumes (that is an interesting "its a small world" story in itself). The point is, I could probably get some relevant insight into searching the German origins of Allsman/Saltzmans etc from him. From what I understand, German church birth records are very accurate and we could probably break through some brick walls there.
The other thing is that I am involved in the Clark DNA project. I really think this is the genealogy wave of the future. Although certain specifics will still allude us, DNA surname projects could give us some great clues and help out . Surname projects are limited to only males with the surname in question, ie, we would need males named Allsman(or the variously spelled), to participate and it would check his paternal line, the father of the father of the father, etc.
Anyway, I just wanted to share these thoughts with everybody and thoughtt he best way would be through the Alsman board as opposed to all the different County or state boards. I will be posting this e-mail to the Alsman board.

I realize most of the Andrew Alsman postings are at least a few years old, but there is something that just don't seem right...first, that he was between the ages of 35-68 when his children were born and his wife, Ann, not much younger than that. Also that he lived to be about 110 and his wife close to 100? Is it possible we are missing an Andrew somewhere, one born between the Andrew of Baden born abt 1748 and the Andrew born 1799? Just wondering if anyone has explored this. Lets discuss.
Sincerely,
Fred
ps My ggg grandfather is Harrison, gg is Jacob, g grandmother is Candis

Hi Robin I saw your post and although I'm not familiar with your Grandmother I am familiar with the Alsman name.If you knew her fathers name it would help alot. There is a gedcom file put on line by Allen Alsman you might find interesting you can find it at www.my-ged.com click on surnames and you'll find Alsman and there are many listed.
Was your father a Alsman? What was his name?
I'm fairly new at this myself and there is a Alsman research mail list if you'd like to be included let me know. I have learned alot from this list.
Patsy
