I have been researching my Maternal grandfather who's name is Charles H. Altemus (I believe the H stands for Harry). I know now his mother's name was definitely Sadie and I believe her maiden name was Riegel/Reagle/Riegle (I've seen it spelled a few ways). Sadie was married twice before having my grandfather. First marriage was to someone with the last name of Germantown or Germanton. From this union came my grandfather's half-brother Arthur and half-sister Olive. Then she married Milton Rasely/Rasley and had my grandfather's half-brother Ray and half-sister Medith. Then in the 1930 census she is listed as the head of the household with her daughter Medith, my grandfather Charles, his sister Beulah, a Boarder named Harry Altemose, and Sadie's sister Hattie. I don't know the name of my grandfather's father, but I think it may be Harry. Does anyone out there know anything about this Altemus line??
