Mrs. Mary E. Dorney Altemus, widow of James Altemus, died on Tuesday morning of last week, at 1:30 o'clock, at the Altemus home, two miles north of Vintondale, Cambria county, in her 83rd year. Death was due to general debility. The deceased was born in this county. Her husband died two years ago last June. Mrs. Altemus leaves the following children: B.D. Altemus, at home; Dr. O.E. Altemus, of Johnstown, and Mrs. Laura C. Dick, whose home adjoins that of the Altemus farm, near Vintondale; also, two sisters- Mrs. Dillie Faloon, of Indiana, and Mrs. George Heilman, of Brushvalley township- and 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Altemus was a member of the Lutheran church. Funeral services were held on Thursday morning, at 9:30 o'clock, and interment was made in the Strongstown cemetery.
