DEATHS IN KANSAS CITY.

Aloysius C. ALTEN, 45 years old, died at his home, 4702 East Sixth
Street, at 2:30 o'clock yesterday morning. Mr. ALTEN had been a
resident of Kansas City for more than twenty-five years.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Katherine ALTEN; two sons,
Aloysius C. ALTEN Jr., and Charles ALTEN, and three daughters,
Loretta ALTEN, Mabel ALTEN and Anna ALTEN.

Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Seventh Street
and Cypress Avenue, at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning. Burial will be
in Mount ST. Mary's Cemetery.

I am looking for information of the Altens. My wife's mother was a Alten. Susan Altens parents were Frederick Alten and Mary Wietiner from Lancaster, Ohio. Susan had a twin sister name of Hannah and a Brother named Ralph. Susan married Wilson Dewer Holton of Michigan. Any and all information on the ancestors of these people would be appreciated.

Hi: Katie. I have Frederick Alten married to a Mary Wietiner with 3 children. Susan alten my wife's mother, and her twin sister Hannah Alten. Susan married Wilson Dewey Holton and Hannar married Gordon Henry Holton. Wilson and Gordon were brothers. Susan and Hannah also had a brother named Ralph. No more information of Ralph. Susan and Hannah were born 23 Dec 1905, Lancaster, Ohio. I have Frederick born in Onterio, Canada but no date of birth. I may be contacted by e-mail ThomasZebra@aol.com

Hello. My wife's mother had a brother named Ralph Alten. I do not have any information on a Ralph Alten other than he had twin sisters names of Susan and Hannah. Susan is my wife's mother. Susan and Hannah married borhters. Wilson Dewey Holton and Gordon Henry Holton. Their father was Frederick Alten and their mother was Mary Wietiner. The twins were born in Lancaster, Ohio. Hi Thomas, I believe that I am your link to the Lancaster Ohio Altens.
My mother was Freda Alten grandaughter of August Alten born about 1840 and died 1885. His parents were Frederick Alten and
his mother was Christina Geborin. He was from Germany and was a blacksmith. There is a foundry in Lancaster that still carries the Alten name. He was married to Mary Miller (Maria Mueller) and she was the daughter of Gottleib Mueller and Christina Regina Frederick. August and Mary were the parents of six children; Henry, William, John Frederick, Christina and August. Mary Miller's father was shoemaker and went on to found Miller's Shoe Factory.

My grandfather August Alten had a brother
named Frederick born in Lancster, Ohio in
1871. He was married and at some point he
moved to Michigan where his wife (I don't
have her name)died in 1944. After her death
he returned to Lancaster where he died at
his brother's farm on June 8, 1845

I realized that I gave the incorrect date of death
for Fred Alten. He died in 1945 not 1845 as
I originally stated.

I am looking for information on Dorothee Alten. I know that she married Simon August Heitkamp who was born November 09, 1775 in Vernalter Zu Dalhansen Oerlinghausan Lippe (Germany). They had a son, Simon August Heitkamp, Jr. born December 16, 1810, Dalhausen Oerling-Hausen/Lippe. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
