Alex M. Altenbach, 1804 Bell avenue, died at 6 a.m. Sunday at St. Nicholas hospitl after being ill a few days with pneumonia. He was 30 years old.
Mr. Altenbach is survived by his wife, Emily, one son, Arthur, age 16; two daughters, Ruby, 13 and Verona, 12, his father, Kosmas Kistner, one brother, Edward, of this city, and one sister, Mrs. Emil Biever, of Port Washington. His mother, Mrs. Ida Kistner, died three years ago.
Deceased was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was well known in this city as he conducted a soft drink parlor at the intersection of Superior avenue and N. Thirteenth street for many years up to a few months ago.
The funeral will be conducted at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday from the family residence and at 9 a.m. from Holy Name Catholic church. The mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Father Phillipp Dreis. Burial will be in North Side Catholic cemetery.
