Not sure if there is a connection, but my ggm was named Esther Altman, who married my ggf Morris Sliverman. My mom says that the Silverman family was from Sienna, Poland or Lodz. I'm guessing that was where Esther Altman was from too. I found a manifest mentioning a Masche Altman. I'm sure Esther had more siblings. She came to New York in 1920, with her children, Charles, Shirley. David and Max.

My mom and aunt are trying to remember any of their Altman cousins, but they are having a tough time.
