My Grandmother's name is Filomena Alva also spelled Alba on some papers. Father is listed as Santiago mother as Mary Rein, I think the spelling might be wrong. Filomena married Bisente, also spelled in various ways. Bisente was from Fort Worth Texas however I am not sure if they met in Texas or not. I believe they followed the beets. We believe they might have been around North Loredo Texas.
I have found by most paper work we are consider part of the "White" race however our ethnicity is Hispanic. When recording race on government documents the choices were "White" "Black" "Indian" assume American Indian, and "Asian". We were considered white because of possible European blood from the Spanish, etc. I was told by the older generation that everyone in the family always told each other to choose "White". Hispanic was not consider a race only an ethnicity.
