Alvarez's from Michoacan, Mexico

Hello, I'm looking to find more information on the surname "Alvarez." I know MOST if not ALL of my family starting from my great-grandfather down.

My great-grandfather Daniel Alvarez was born and raised in Michoacan, Mexico. (passed away 2006 or 2007 I believe)

He had a son (my grandfather) named Gaspar Alvarez. (still alive and well)

I guess I actually would like to know as far back as possible... IF POSSIBLE. Thank you!

Jose Alvarez, Juana Barbee, Joseph A. Barbee - Florida

Looking for the parents of Joseph A. Barbee (b. @ 1820 in Florida) who lived in the Jacksonville area during the 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 census periods. Wife Mary M. (Manning?). 1880 has his father born in France, mother in Florida. Looks like there may be some sort of connection between Joseph and Jose Alvarez (1771 - 1837) and Juana Barbee (1794 - 1837) but not certain.. possibly witnessing some legal documents for the Alvarez family. Seems too much for coincidence with naming conventions. Could Joseph A. Barbee be Joseph Alvarez Barbee using the Spanish naming convention? Maybe a nephew of Juana's?

Cornelia Alvarez History

Hi, I am in the beginning stages of gathering my family genealogy information and would be very grateful if anyone had any bits of information to offer.
What I have so far is:
Placido Pacheco married Cornelia Alvarez.
One of their children was Juanna Pacheco Alvarez who married Sigifredo Landa Escamilla in 1932.
One of their children was Consuelo Landa Pacheco born 1939.
Consuelo married Delfino Miramontes Cruz born 07/06/41.
Delfino was Consuelo's 2nd marriage; her 1st husband was Delfino's brother, Jesus Miramontes Cruz who was killed at a very young age, leaving Consuelo with 2 babies.
Consuelo and Delfino had 3 children of their own.
Any past history would be so very helpful, especially dates. Consuelo, Delfino, Sigifredo, and Juanna all come from Huejuquilla El Alto Jalisco Mexico. I assume Placido & Cornelia did too, but I have no information to confirm that. Thank you in advance for any insight you may be able to share.

My half brother, who was born under the name listed in the subject line was adopted in 1981 by a family of the name Riley. They changed his name, which just adds to the difficulty of this already daunting search. There's not a day that goes by, even all these years later, that our biological mother doesn't think of the baby boy she couldn't keep. If you know anything at all, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE to reply to this thread. Your answer could be just we've been looking for. Thank you.

C. Alvarez in San Juan Cemeterio, Geronimo, Texas

Today I was "visiting" my great-great-grandmother's grave in Geronimo, Texas, and I tried to get all the legible headstones written down. I found the following:

"Father" C. Alvarez -- No date. The headstone is overgrown. The earliest marked grave (still legible) has a 1916 date, with the majority of marked graves being in the 30's and 40's, but continuing to the present. There are only around 113 graves (known).

Geronimo is a tiny town, close to San Marcos to the north and Seguin to the south. It is in Guadalupe County.

That's all the info I have on an Alvarez… But if you have questions about the cemetery location, let me know.

My name is George Alvarez Jr., I am working on a family tree and I am searching for information on my dads side of the family. I know very little due to the fact that I have only met my grandmother, and an uncle who live in New York. My grandfather Flo Alvarez mostly lived in Puerto Rico, I have a picture of him holding me as a baby. I do not know what 'Flo' might have been short for, and I know I have alot of family in PR. My grandfather past away around 1988, and I am hoping someone might have some information to help trace the family line back. My email address is gkralvarez@aol.com

Manuel M. Alvarez WWII Army Airborne

Hi. I am looking for either Manuel or his family.

Manuel was in the Army Airborne during WW2. He started out in the 17th Airborne Division/139th Engineer Battalion and possibly transferred to the 101st or the 82nd Airborne when the 17th was disbanded in 1945. He would have been in the Engineer Battalion or HQ & S.

I am in the process of writing a book about the Battalion and would like to have him contact me. If he is no longer with us, I'd like the family to touch base with me to give me a summary of his life since the service. This also will be in the book.

I have also succeeded in getting these WW2 Heros to touch base again with their comrades after not seeing each other for almost 60 years. Their reunions have been wonderful.

Thank you for all leads to help me on this tribute to our WW2 Heros.

Sincerely,
Tammy Paynter

I know I have family in Indio. My grandpas name was Albert Alvarez and my dad whos name is Albert Alvarez Jr. told me he used to go out to his uncles house in Indio. His name was John, also a Vincent, Josie, Beatriz and a Pat. I think my great grandpas name was Tranquilino and that he had other children besides the ones I just mentioned. So I know from all of my grandpas brothers and sisters they must have had children.
