Hi I really dont know how I stumbled on to this web site but it's crazy my grandmother is RESTO born in 1916 she's 94 years old from Vieques PR she had 9 brothrs and sisters. My father is ALVIRA from Ceiba, if you didn't know there is a ward call Aguas Buenas in Ceiba, you'll find all the Alvira their throught many generation because my grand father owned some land and distributed among all his sons. All I remember that on his funeral I was introduced to over 26 uncles all his sons. At that ward you could find all kind of info I don't know to much cause I was raised in NY.

My father was born in Puerto Rico married irish-german girl and moved to moweaqua Il. Separated from family and his father died in the boxing ring in Puerto Rico and his mom died from Lukemia in her sixties. Money and politics kept us apart. I have no connections is it possible. I have not been able to tell any one in his family he has passed on. Thanks Sandr

my father was born in Puerto Rico his name was Francisco Luis Alvira and he was born on Feb. 6th approx 1935. He had several step brothers and sisters I remember Junior and Aunt Edyie and his mother was Francesca. I am still trying to remember. My maiden name was Sandra Alvira

My maiden name is Alvira my father was born in Puerto Rico. His mother married after he was born and her name changed. He has since passed. He had a brother named Junior and a sister named
Eydie and others from his mothers afterward marriage. His name was Francisco Luis Alvira born Feb 6th. approx 1935,

Hi my maiden name was Sandra
Alvira and my day was Francisco Luis Alvira born 1935 or 1936 approx. and his mother name was Francesca I may not have spelled it right. He married Doris Hartman and moved from Puerto Rico to Chicago then to Moweaqua Il. He had 11 in his family I believe. Junior his brother by a different father and Paco his cousin. Otherwise he has passed and I have not been able to research. I have pictures an no names.

My father Francisco Luis Alvira one of 11 children was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Family lost he married Irish German lady moved from Puerto Rico to Chicago and then to Moweaqua Illinois. Lost contact with his family. His mothers name Francisca. She remarried and had a different name. I have been looking to find family to tell about his passing and unable to contact them. You are right the name Alvira is rare because we are all family some of the older generation is still alive so if you send info on your Alvira family history I can ask my aunts and family that are still alive. They are about 85 years young. In Ceiba Puerto Rico there are many Alvira's I personally do not know them. Hope I can help!

Hello, I'm the great-granddaughter of Manuel Montes Alvira (1881-1964) of Fajardo, P.R. His parents were Matias Montes & Carmen Alvira Rivera. Manuel's siblings were: Juan, Nicolas, Concepcion, Catalino and Victoria Montes Alvira.

Victoria Montes Alvira married Florentino Feliciano Siaca in 1914, and had two daughters, Juanita and Maria Isabel Feliciano Montes. She also had a son, Juan Garcia Montes, by a previous marriage. Juan Montes Alvira married Mercedes Manuela Ayala Medina and lived on Vieques as did their son Cecilio. Nicolas Montes Alvira married Casinta Solero and they had six children.

I'm specifically searching for information about the parents of Carmen Alvira Rivera, also anything on the Montes family in Fajardo. My family also has Alvira connections to the Coubertier, Mateo, Morales, Quinones, Robles, Tolentino and Vidal families, all of Fajardo & Ceiba, would appreciate any info regarding these as well. Hello,
My name is SSG Ivan J. Alvira Mendez, son of Ivan Alvira Matos and Grandson of Ismael Alvira Castro. With the exception of my father who was born in NY we were all born in Puerto Rico. My Grandfather married Gloria Matos Santana of Ceiba. My grandfather’s family was from Barrio Obrero and Rio Grande, PR. He had several brothers and sisters but the only ones that I can remember of the top of my head were Roberto, Milagros, Carmen, Nori, Rosa, and Mercedes. There are more but those are the only names I can remember from my childhood. My self and my brother are the remaining heirs of the last name. Thankfully we both had son’s, which will keep our last name going. Being that our last name is so rare I have always been interested in our last names family History. I am currently deployed in Iraq so this would be a good project to take on, on my down time. As far as I know there are only two Alvira's in the entire U.S. Army. The only info I have is what my grandmother has been able to tell me. My grandfathers grandmother was Petrolina (Petra) Rivera Alvira and her brother was Alejandro Rivera Alvira. Hi there,

We just completed some research and found that my wife's g-grandfather was Lope Alvira Rivera. He had some brothers, and the only one that we know are Leoncia Alvira Rivera and Alejandro (Alejandrino) Alvira Rivera; but there were some more. The father of Lope Alvira Rivera was Genaro Alvira Robles and we believe thet the father of Genaro was Hipolito Alvira b. about 1825... Does any of those names ring a bell???
