Katy and her brother Jim Bonner were orphans from Olitrough, near Batesville AR and were taken in by the Alvis family. In 1899 Edgar married Katy in Logan Co. Katy died of pneumonia in 1902 when thier only son Leonard "Rip" Alvis was about 2 years old.

Edgar married my Grandmother Anna Mae Wackery about 1903. Together they had 7 children. I knew Rip when I was a young boy. We would visit he and his wife Irene at their home in CA.
