I am from the Amadors of Matagalpa, NI. I have Amador relatives who live in Managua. I myself live in the USA. I am aware of Amadors, all of whom are blood related to one another, living in the continental USA, the Hawaiian Islands, Argentina, South Africa, Spain and Nicaragua. Most of the Amadors from Matagalpa, NI have lived in the USA at one time or another. I know many blood related Amadors, that have attended universities in USA, Belgium, Italy and other European countries; devoted to years of study.
Amadors were among the first people to migrate to Nicaragua. All Matagalpan Amadors emigrated to NI before the 16th century. The Amadors line originated from three Segovian brothers in the 16th century {1550 A.D. onward}. The original three Amador brothers were from Segovia Spain, which may account for the Matagalpan area called Segovia. Most of the information regarding the Amador lineage, beginning with the three original brothers, can be gained from the monasteries in Salamonica and Segovia Spain.
In the 1840's, Francisco Amador was responsible for one of the major battles with Walker in Nicaragua.
In the 1940-50's several Amadors worked and managed some mines in Matagalpa, NI.
One Amador has completed extensive studies of the Amador family name and lineage. He was a Jesuit priest, now living in Costa Rica.
You can always tell an Amador, should you see one on the street in any country in all the world. They all look alike. They all carry the same personality traits. Their personal habits are similar, whether born and raised in the same or different countries and environments. These characteristics, and more, are an unmistakable sign of Amador lineage.
