Hi!

I've recently begun my research on my ancestors. I've started to ask questions and below is what I have so far.

Apparently the Amador's come from Islas Canarias, Spain and most of them reside in Camuy,PR. However my family (Amador) Resides in Manati, PR.

Granfather was Ramon Amador- great grandparents were Luisa Monroig de Amador & Evaristo Amador.

Grandmother was Maria Juana Montijo-great grandparents were Jose "pepe" Montijo and Margarita Batista.

I am trying to find others who may have any connection to these last names in these areas in PR. If you do, please post a reply.

Thanks!

Patricia would be my grandmother's half sister, they grew up together. My grandma left home and didn't keep in contact. She is now past on, and I've been trying to research this side of my family. Hoping to find other distant relatives that could help with genealogy information and family history. My aunt said that she had married a guy named Phoenix and had three daughters [I have copies of some pictures]. I'm not sure about the Phoenix name?

Found this in ancestry.com, so either the name Phoenix is wrong or she remarried?

Name: Patricia Delgado Barber
[Patricia Delgado Amador]
Gender: Female
Race: White
Marital Status: Married
Social Security Number: 565444053
Father's Last Name: Amador
Age: 57
Date of Birth: 18 Jul 1932
Birth Location: California
Birth State: California
Residence County: Currituck
Residence State: North Carolina
Date of Death: 24 Oct 1989
Death County: Currituck
Death State: North Carolina
Autopsy: No
institution: Home
Attendant: Physician
Burial Location: Cremation out of state
Source Vendor: NC Department of Health.
Amador's in New Mexico

So far I have my lineage back to Guillermo Amador and Aurelia Perez (Peres?) who were married on 2-28-1876 in Las Cruces, NM. Their son, Jose, married Angelita Gandara Rel (his second marriage, his first was to Margarita Jimenez) and one of their sons was Guillermo Rel Amador, my grandfather. He married my grandmother, Emilia Young, on March 10, 1946. My father is Jose Young Amador.

I am told I have relatives whom I do not know in and around the Hatch and Rincon areas of New Mexico through my great-grandfather's first marriage. Any help from anyone out there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,

I am looking for information on my grandmother - she was a tiqua indian - she had a son out of wedlock - my father Frank Diaz Granados - his father was Luz Diaz - she later married a man by the name of Justo Granados and lived and died in El Paso Texas. I am not sure if she was born in New Mexico or Texas her name was Ygnacia Amador her name could have been spelled Ignacia also but her grave marker is Ygnacia. My father is 91 years old. Thanks Rosalie

Book inscribed, I think, by an Amador

Greetings to the Amador families,

I am Karen Robertson-Kidd and I live in South Carolina. Some years ago, my husband picked up a book of "Shakespere's (sic) Love Poems" from a used book store and gave it to me for St. Valentine's Day. Some time after that, I noticed an inscription on one of the blank facing pages. It says "Mary U (or W or maybe even A) Amador (or Amadore, Amadorn, Amadov . . .)Xmas, 1917 From my son Oscar W." I looked up Oscar Amador in the SS lists provided here at familyhistory.com and came up with an Oscar Amador who was born in 1899. I'm going to send off a letter for more information but, at this point, that is all I know. I really do not think this book should have passed out of Mary's and Oscar's family. If you recognize these names, please let me know and I'll get the book to you.
