I am also a descendant of the Onslow Co., NC Amans. My cousin and I have been researching the family for a couple of years. Have lots of information. First of our family to come to America, from Switzerland, were Phillip and John Aman, sons of Jacob Aman, about 1710. Jacob (Jakob Ammann) was born in 1654 in Switzerland. I've tracked the family through the generations for our branch. My greatgrandfather was Phillip Thomas Aman whose wife and children came from Alabama to Florida in the 1860s.
