I am looking for information on the Aman family lines of Onslow County, NC.

I understand that most of the Aman family descends from a PHILIP Aman who came to NC in 1709 as part of the New Bern Settlement, but WHO is he? Who is his wife? What is his birth/death date/place? Who are his children? Is this Philip related to the JACOB Aman from Switzerland? How?

There are several Philip Amans listed as being in NC during the 1700-1800 and I’m confused as to who is who and how they are related. Can someone help me sort this out?

Aman Tax records in NC show:

1784-1787: Jacob. Philip, and Dennis.
Are they related? If so, how?
Are Dennis and Jacob sons of Philip since one record in 1769 shows Philip listed as “Philip and 2 sons”?

1790 Onslow Co., NC: Jacob, John, and Philip.
Are they related? If so, How? Where is Dennis?
I believe this John is the John Sanders of my family line and son of Philip.

1790-1890 Onslow Co.: 3 Dennis’s, 3 Jacob’s, 5 Philips, 2 John’s. Are these repeats of the same people? Are they related? How?

BENJAMIN JAMES GARRETT b. 1834 Wolf Pitt, Onslow, NC d. 1876 Jacksonville, Onslow, NC

Celia Matilda Aman is the daughter of

ARCHIBALD Aman b. 1794 Onslow, NC d. 9-1859 Jacksonville, Onslow, NC and
HARRIETT BRADHAM b. 1806 Onslow, NC d. 6-30-1883 Jacksonville, Onslow, NC

Archibald Aman is the son of:

JOHN Sanders Aman b. 1765? Onslow Co., NC married to
CHARITY FOYLES (Foydles) b. 1754? Onslow Co., NC

John Sanders Aman is the son of:

PHILIP Aman b. 1745? d. 1828? Onslow Co., NC.

If someone can help me with this information, I would appreciate it. I have documented information on the GARRETT family line from Benjamin to current and I am willing to share.
