Amen's in San Antonio?

I need alot of help. My dad's name is Ralph Amen, later being adopted by stepfather John Jerscheid. Mother's name Margaret. Siblings Phyllis and Tim. I do not know Ralph's father name, only that he and his parents lived in San Antonio Texas.Gladly appreciate any info to get me started.

Elvin M. Amen, M.D., long-time resident of Bartlesville,OK, died Friday, September 1, 2006, at the Heritage Villa Care Center.

Dr. Amen was born May 19, 1920, in Merrill, Wisconsin, the son of Albert Marion and Mabel Jane (Shinn) Amen.

I don't believe I'm related to this person, but if you wish more info, I have a typed copy of his obit. Dottie

I have an old photo of this lady. She appears in several, actually. Her name is on the back of many photos that are of young girls that I thought was in Catholic School Uniforms, but has since been told apparently they are not. These girls are all in uniform and apparently they play instruments as some have them in the photos. I figure these photos to be from the 1920s/1930s. Please contact me..I am not looking for any compensation...I truely want to get these pictures to the families of the people in them. I treasure my family photos even those folks I never met. It is just such a great link to my history!!

DROWNING TAKES LIVES OF THREE BILLINGS BOYS IN RESERVOIR
Billings, June 6. --- (AP) --- Three farm boys, all cousins, drowned today in the Great Northern reservoir at Rimrock station, 10 miles west of Billings, when the boat in which they were playing overturned and threw them into the seven-foot deep artificial lake.

Dead were Byron Leveno Amen, 16; John Amen, Jr., 13; and Jack Amen, 12.

Ervin Amen, 15, brother of Jack, who also was in the boat, swam to shore and returned with a rope tied around his waist to pull in the body of his brother. Another boy, Billy Wagner, 12, was pulled to safety by his father and a neighbor who were fishing from the bank at the time.

Adolph Amen

1906-2003

Adolph Amen, 97, of Cheyenne, died Oct. 10 at the Life Care Center.

He was born March 18, 1906, in Russia. He had lived here since 1922. He immigrated to
America from the Volga region of Russia at 3 weeks old.

Mr. Amen was a machinist and welder for the Union Pacific Railroad for 49 years.

He is survived by his wife, Amelia Amen of Cheyenne-they celebrated their 76th
anniversary on June 12, 2003; two sons, James Amen of Cheynne and Dr. Ralph D.
Amen of Winston-Salem, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn Amen on Dec. 31, 2003; his parents,
Jacob and Elsie Amen; three brothers, Jacob Amen, George Amen and John Amen; and
three sisters, Elsie Reider, Margaret Amen and Leta See.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev.
Robert Garrard officiating.

Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church Organ Fund.

Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Jo Ann Amen

1938-2002

Jo Ann Amen, 64, of Cheyenne died Dec. 31 at 3128 Boxelder Dr.

She was born May 7, 1938, in Cheyenne and had lived here all of her life.

Ms. Amen graduated from University of Northern Colorado with a degree in English in 1965.

She retired in 1979 as deputy to the Wyoming State Registrar of Vital Records.

Ms. Amen was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her parents, Adolph and Amelia Amen of Cheyenne; and two brothers, Dr. Ralph
D. Amen of Winston Salem, N.C., and James M. Amen of Cheyenne.

Services are pending through Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Friends may contribute ot Wycliffe Bible Translators, P.O. Box 628200, Orlando, FL 32862-8200.

There is a Mathias Amen in the 1870 Federal Census p.266 in Cloverdale Township . I'm looking for relatives from Ohio for Thomas Jackson Moody who married Mary Ellen Claycomb and moved to Mendocino CA. In the 1880 Census at Mendocino, CA. Thomas appears with 3 children and his sister, Sarah Amen and no wife. My grandmother was one of the children aged 5. I know she and her brothers were orphaned in grammer school...but assumed the father died first...guess not...still searching. Hope this helps you.

Are you related to a Cecelia Amen?

I have recently gotten some photographs that belong to my husband's foster grandmother, Agnes (??) Sheaffer. These photos seem quiet old and I am sure that the decendants of the people in them would love to have them(as I know I enjoy having my family photos old and new!)!

Some of the photos have names written on the back. Cecelia Amen is in a few of the photos. It appears that there are several young ladies in school together as they are in uniform. I am thinking maybe it was a Catholic School as Agnes (??) Sheaffer was indeed Catholic.

Please contact me as I would love to get these photos to someone who will cherish them as much as they should be cherished!

I'm looking for information on my ancestor Michael Amen. All I know is that he married an Onieda Indian woman in New York and that their daughter Sarah Jane Amen was born in Wisconsin in 1859. The Onieda people were moved to a reservation there. I would appreciate any info.
