His father was Jesse Calvin Amerine, son of James William Amerine and Mary Jane Johnson. James William was the son of George Amerine and Isabella Moore of Hocking Co., OH.

Services for Francis "Marion" Amerine of Sheridan will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, in the Sheridan Church of the Nazarene. Interment will be at 2 o'clock that afternoon in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson's Sheridan Funeral Home. The mortuary will be open for viewing and screening of a video history from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 14.
Mr. Amerine died Saturday, July 9, in his home surrounded by his wife and family. He was 93.
He was born Feb. 21, 1912, the son of Jesse and Carrie (Roper) Amerine. He moved to the Sheridan area in 1936.
He served in the U.S. Navy for three years during World War II. After leaving the service, he returned to Portland to attend college.
He and Helen Mable Jahn were married in 1947 in Portland.
Mr. Amerine was most recently employed by the Willamina Plywood Mill. He retired in 1975 after 28 years on the job.
He was a longtime member of the Sheridan Church of the Nazarene. His family said he held various duties in the church and gave generously of his time and finances.
Mr. Amerine enjoyed gardening, especially collecting and growing a variety of irises, gladiolas and dahlias.
Relatives called him a conscientious and faithful husband and father who provided for the needs of his family.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four children, Gerald Amerine of Sheridan, Barbara Cochran of Keizer; Linda Glassco of Lincoln City, and Elizabeth Elkinton of Reno, Nev.; a sister, Edna Deason of McMinnville; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Amerine; his first wife, Ida Hopkins; a brother, Lloyd Amerine; and four sisters, Emily Ellis, Vivian Crawford, Phebe Delker and Mary Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to Legacy VNA Hospice, in care of Adamson's, 108 N.W. Lincoln St., Sheridan, OR 97378.
