Hi Paula,

Do you have the name or phone number to use as a contact if we are able to locate some family members? How long ago was the fire?

You mentioned his obituary, does it give the names of his parents? I have found a Joe Amerine and Alnota (Alneta) Eleanor Yost that may have been his parents. Any other clues would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Laura Amerine Garber Kenney

Larry Amerine TX attorney

Tulsa firefighters are trying to return the ashes of a man who died in 1992, to his family.

They found the urn after putting out an arson fire at a house near 2nd and Peoria. The name on the urn matches a driver's license found nearby.

His obituary says Larry Amerine was an attorney in Texas. Firefighters didn't feel right leaving the urn behind, knowing the building would be bulldozed.

Tulsa Fire Captain John Steiner: "I would like to think it would be important to anyone. We find a lot of things at fire scenes, but, we've never found anything like this and we just want to make sure it gets put in the right spot."

Not kin to me but thought he might be kin to someone here.

Amrine/Bacher - Wyandot Co., OH 1800s

Is anyone out there researching the children of Henry Amrine & Chloe Powers? One family tree I found lists two of their children who married Bacher/Bachars (the family I'm researching).
1. Andrew Amrine (1829-1895) md. Mary Ann Bachar (1835-1899). They were in the Wyandot Co. census in 1860 and were buried in Hancock Co. They had at least 3 children - Sarah, George & Chloe.
2. Peter Bacher md. Mary Amrine in 1873 in Wyandot Co., OH. No further information.

The Grantor/Grantee Index for Ridge Twp., Wyandot Co., OH mentions the following Amrines (var. spellings) and the dates they were listed as grantors to property granted to Jacob or Simon P. Bachar:

John M. Amrine (1873)
Hiram Peer et ux (wife was Catherine Amrine) (1876)
Peter D. Cross (wife was Cornelia Amrine) (1877)
Sarah E. Amerine (1879)
Benjamin Amarine (1880)

Any further information on this families is appreciated.
AMERINE in MISSOURI

Jacob AINEMERES married Rebecca J. CAMPBELL at Daviess county MO in 1879.

The name as spelled is from the LDS records and is obviously misspelled since no such name has been located in the US.

recently while scanning Daviess county cemeteries there was a Joseph AMERINE which I suspect is the correct name for Jacob.

Does anyone have a record of a Jacob Amerine, born about 1850?

Does anyone have any family for Jacob and Rebecca?

Any help appreciated. If you happen to be a descendant I have at least a part of your ancestry back to Switzerland in the mid 1600's and will be glad to exchange.

Thanks,

Bill Hunter
azel@sprint.ca

John, Mother had written down George W. Amerine married a Harriet Hitchcock in Hopkinsville, MO. Looking on the map I find a Hopkins just over the state line (ohio) where the families lived at Bedford, Villisea, Clairinda. I called Nodaway County, MO to obtain a marriage license. They never heard of Hopkinsville. Names were not listed as being married there.
My Mother's Grandmother was Amanda Almeda Amerine.
My Mother's dad's name was George William Wilson.
My Mother's name was Cleo Almeda(Wilson) Williams. This gets confunsing. I Think we are somehow related.
Sandra
Sandra

Amerine/Colbert

I am seeking info on Colbert Amrine (and his parents), born 1828 or 29 in Oh. Married Eliza McGough, 1850 Miami Co. OH. The 1850 census has them living by Fredrick Amerine and Mariah Mercer Amrine, married 1847 Miami Co., with children Mary A. 2 and John W. 5 mo.
The 1860 census list Colbert and Eliza (Amrine) Emarine in Darke Co., Patterson Twp. with children William 9, Catherine 8, Harrison 5 (I believe he was 3) and Marla (I believe this to be Marley) 5 mo. I can't find any more on this family until Marley 20 and Harry 23 are shown on the 1880 Census in Licking County, Lima Twp. living with the Whitehead family.

Marley (1-5-1860 to 5-26-1929) married Lena Moreland (1-10-1868 to 12-23-1932) in Licking co. 9-14-1881. They had children Edith, Sarah, Muriel, Carl, Burt and Bessie.

I found a marriage listing for Abraham Amerine and Catherine Colbert on 10-20-1825 in Champaign County OH, also a Fredrick Amrine and Polly Evans 8-5-1828 also in Champaign Co. I believe that Abraham and Catherine Colbert were Colbert's parents and was named for his mothers surname though I have no proof. Do you have any info on the Amrine/ Colbert families living in Champaign Co at that time? I also think that Colbert and Fredrick may have been closely related maybe brothers (?) or cousins who grew up together?

I have been at my wits end trying to locate anything on Colbert Amrine with no success, now that I think I have a lead with the Amrine / Colbert marriage, I can't seem to find any info on them either. I'm starting to think I am the only one looking for this line.

I would appreciate ANY help.
