Lillian is pictured in the 1918 Alcalde, yearbook of Sam Houston Normal Institute of Huntsville. She teaches 2nd grade. I'm not kin but thought this might help researchers locate family.

Not sure if you are still searching the family tree for John Amery of Chumleigh Devon. 1781 His wife is Elizabeth Rattenbury. I am wanting to go back further. I am a descendant of John. My grandmother was Myrtle Queenie Amery and lived in Victoria Australia

I haven't had a lot of time to spend on the tree lately but have concentrated on my grandfathers side most recently. Would be good to see what happened to other branches off the tree and share any info.

They moved to Blackford Som. where they had Richard

Richard Emery b 1717 b Blackford M Sarah Fear
They then moved to Wedmore Som. where they gave rise to a large family in the Wedmore area

I have traced my Amery family to Stogumber, Somerset where John Amery was born in 1811 (and also his wife, Grace Scott b. 1806). They had a number of children (Eleanor, John, George, Joseph, Mary and Mark) who, I believe, remained in the Stogumber area for the next 2 generations before moving to the Bristol area.

Do these have any connection with your family?

I am interest in finding the early information regarding Samuel Amery of Charles County, Md. ( St. Mary's). I would like to know when he arrived in the colony and just where in England his or his famiy were located. Samuel Amery married Mary Ann Wilson of Charles County, Md. about 1700 and had a number of children. The male names for several generation are : Samuel, John , Thomas and according to the custom these are probably names of prior family members.
He was a famer, well educated, held positions in the community and in the Trinity Episcopal Church in what was called NewPort in Charles Co., His seat was called Eagleton or Nevitt's Desire colnsisted of several hundred acres. My name is Bruce Amery and have only just signed up to Ancestry so forgive me if I have missed something.
My info only takes me back to John Amery of Chulmleigh c1790 but I believe there is some info held by a cousin going back a couple more generations but as yet I don't have that. Is this the same line of Amery's as yours? I am presently transcribing what I have onto a new program and would be happy to share what I have if any use to you.

Abstracted from the "San Luis Obispo Breeze" (Daily) 11 Sept 1899:
An Old Marriage Certificate. J.A. Dunbar purchased a box from a Mrs. H. Sutcliff before she left the city. In the box was a certificate issued in April 1841 "this marriage was solemnized between Charles Kitchener full age, bachelor, baker and Sarah Amery, full age, spinster, by me James Mayne, Curate in the presence of us John Amery and Ann Amery." in Parish of Bethnal Green, in the County of Middlesex, England and in addition the document states the names of the fathers of the contracting persons, and the business in which they were engaged.

I have now got back to 1700's and would love to have any info. you can share before this date to see if it connects. the last ancestor I found was a Richard Amery married to Nicola Lewis in 1734 at Chulmleigh - he was buried 16.6.1745. As yet I have found no connection with the D'Amorys of South Molton,but feel there must be a connection along the line. South Molton as you probably know is only a few miles from Chulmleigh where so far almost all my Amerys came from. I am back to 1700's and think the D'Amorys were probably before this time - I would appreciate any info. about them that might help me connect and would be quite happy to share any info. that might help you.

My Emery line were in South Molton from the early 1300s though 1500 when they went to nearby Bishops Nympton and Molland and then on to Stogumber in Somerset by about 1560, and Wedmore by 1750

Yes...I have the Nicolas Amery from the 1500's in Bridford Devon. There is part of the line that went to Somerset. What format do you have it in. Would love to see. ASre you an Amery?

Hello, my connection to the Amery family is through Mary Amery who married James Seward. She was from North Devon. Their daughter Elizabeth married William Reed Board.

Oh, Joyce, I am SO SORRY to hear of your husband's passing. Please accept my deepest sympathy. We got a lot of snow, too, here in Michigan. When you go to Maryland, will it be Charles County? Would you look for anything for a Henry Bunnell that married Permelia Cooksey Amery? His name may have been William Henry Bunnell. They were married in 1919 in Cuckfield. Georgina died 22 Nov 1962 in Salisbury but I have no further information on this line. Would be interested to receive any further information.
